Venice, the Apartments 213 San Marco offer an ideal accommodation solution for families and for those seeking an unforgettable Venice vacation in spacious, elegant lodgings. Advantages: at peace there Disadvantages: did not want to leave
...Venice is one of my favourite places to visit. You can get to Venice by sea, car, train or by air. A very colourful citiy with its painted palaces and serene churches against the backdrop of canals which take the place of roads and River Buses, Taxis in the place of Cars The Heart of the city is SanMarco which is by the great bend of the Grand Canal. This gets very busy particularly in High Season. If you are looking for quieter places you can head of into the backwaters and boatyards to the east you will find Castello to the South South Dorsoduro where there are various artistic treasures to see. Also to the north Cannaregio's off the beaten track churches to see which are always very rewarding to see.
The main place to visit is SanMarco which is linked by three main thoroughfares which form a triangle from the Piazza SanMarco...

Advantages: Beautiful and breathtaking Disadvantages: getting lost
...See Venice and Die! This is an amazing place and you could not really imaging unless you actually go. I have been to Venice on a few occasions and would certainly go back because each time you go you discover something new. Although sometimes it is frustrating getting lost, but i guess this is how you discover things that are not noted in any tour book. It is very crowded in the months of July and August with tourists, but I feel that this was not a problem for me! Each time visiting Venice my base was Lido di Jesolo which is only approx 1hr in the bus. Lido di jesolo benga beach resort! Walking through the small narrow street of Venice is breathtaking and looking at all the old architecture, discovering a tiny mask making shop or an elegant designer shop and then suddenly you are upon Piazza SanMarco. This Square is fabulous, it is so...

Advantages: A beautiful unique city Disadvantages: Okay, so it is a little smelly at times
...people.
Observing the every day goings on is one of my favourite aspects of Venice. If it wasn't for the real people getting on with real life you could almost imagine the whole city being a creation as a folly for an eccentric millionaire wanting to create WaterCity.
The crumbling old buildings are as beautiful as the museums and palaces; the numerous humble bridges as pretty as the Rialto Bridge.
Of course it is geared up for the tourists, why shouldn't it. The Doges Palace and Piaza SanMarco are two greats inthe city that is a must see visitor destination. Getting around the city for people with mobility issues however will be difficult, I'm not sure where Venice would start to put that right. desipte the fact the many of the major tourist sights are actually reasonably close together
One of my lasting memories of Venice is sitting...
