Before you decide to book this hostel you should ask yourself one question, "Do I need to be in a clean environment to have a good time?" If the answer to this is yes, then I would urge you not to stay here.

Firstly this hostel is massive, and you only really get a feel for how many people are staying here with you when it comes to breakfast. No matter what time you decide to rise and shine, the breakfast room is full to bursting (mainly with Australians it often seems) it must hold about 50 people and is open for 3 hours so that should give you a general idea.

When you get to the front of the que a feast greats you, aswell as the general cereal and toast options there are also a variety of cold meats, cheeses, and breads, aswell as eggs, and pate. Accompanying this is good coffee or tea and two types of juice. After a night of German excess this is the perfect antidote.
The resturant doubles as a bar in the evening with a small beer garden. The bar staff are friendly and obviously speak very good English, and they offer their own draught beer aswell as Dunkels from a bottle. It is alot cheaper than you will find anywhere else in Munich, especially if you can hold on to the rather flimsy wristband that is handed to you when you check in. This will allow you happy hour drinking and means you can get a full stein for about 4.50 euros, compared to the average of 7 euros in the rest of the City.
If you are going to spend the night at the hostel the bar is literally the only place you should be. Dont try to get an early night as there seems a constant flow of excitable young people milling around the hallways and although they say no noise after 11pm, this doesnt appear to be followed through.
The rooms themselves are very small, I booked a twin which turned out to be a bunk bed, which although the beds were tiny themselves they took up the majority of the space. Although the sheets were clean the bed itself hadnt been wiped down for a while and, horribly, still showed the past glories of a previous guest.
The toilets were even worse, a constant smell from the moment you enter, doors on cubicles that only lock with great difficulty, urine spattered floors and seats, and according to my girlfriend that goes double for the ladies.
The trick is to remain fairly drunk most of your time here (German beer is so pure this is really quite easy) and then you wont be a bit concerned with the silly issue of hygeine. If you can manage that then you'll have a fantastic time, but if not you would possibly be better off elsewhere.
I have flown 4 times on Lufthansa recently.
What can I say? You get what you pay for!
My flight between Munich & London Stanstead was great value at about £70. To get this price though you must get someone in Germany to book the ticket for you. Otherwise it's almost double this price to book from the UK.
Their baggage policy is reasonable - they allow two pieces of hand luggage and up to 70kg of luggage. I was not pleased when I was told that my classical guitar had to go in the hold despite being told I could hand it over to the stewards on the door. They did however allow me to take my guitar on board 2 times out of 4.
As for reliability 2 times out of 4 my flight was delayed by up to 2 hours. This was terribly inconvenient seeing as I was flying back to London fir a gig and I ended up being over 2 hours late. I was told ...

Salzburg is an elegant city in Austria about ninety kilometres from Munich, in the foothills of the alps. You can fly there with Ryan Air from Stansted for as little as £4.50 if you get the right flight.
Most people know Salzburg as the home of Mozart and The Sound of Music. Luckily, the city makes more (just enough) of the former and not quite so much of the latter. There is much more to do, though.
There are many fine churches and cathederals packed into the old town, this is after all home of the Prince Bishops and it shows. If you don't like gilded cherubs, take sunglasses and valium. If you have a big thing about spectacular gilded plasterwork in a 'I don't care if it is hideous just make it bigger than every one elses' kind of way then you will be in heaven. If you like castles and views, this is the place with not one but ...
Advantages: Beautiful place, amazing sights round every corner, lots of culture Disadvantages: Some really bad accomadation, hygiene in a few bars / restaurants is lacking
Prague is a magical place, a massive mix of different architectural styles and elements of past rulers dominate this lovely city. I visited Prague for 5 days on a tour of Europe. On arrival from Munich after a few days at the Oktoberfest, relaxation and chilling out was my number one priority.
The train from Munich takes about 4 hours and on the approach, you get to see the real side of this country, which is a bit of a mix. There's quite a bit of industry which does nothing to help their countryside. On arrival in Prague station, which isn't the nicest of places, I'd been told that at the station would be waiting a load of touts trying to get me into their so called hotels and so there was. I was silly enough to fall for this twice as the 2 hotels that I was persuaded to stay in by these guys were absolutely terrible, but about £5 ...
