If Carlsberg did hotels....

Advantages: Great price, free mini-bar, good service, free footie!
Disadvantages: some distance from the centre

Carlsberg don't do hotels, but if they did it might be like the AC Hotel in Jerez. It is a modern hotel which was built adjoining the Chapin Olympic Football Stadium on the outskirts of Jerez. OK, it's not Madrid but our six day stay last September did coincide with a fixture against CD Castellon. The large window of our room opened out into the 22,000 seater stadium and the electric atmosphere of the live game. We had a better view than some of the supporters (and we had our free mini-bar close at hand for half-time refreshments. (The hotel provides free soft drinks and beer but they didn't seem to mind us using it for our own purchases - sherry, wine, beer, jamon, cheese, ....) Or we could relax on our large freshly laundered sheets, or use our sparkling en-suite bathroom. OK, I confess, I'm not that keen on football and we didn ...

Review of AC Hotel Jerez

Just Perfect

Advantages: On edge of historic old town with free parking
Disadvantages: NONE

As a surprise birthday treat, we spent 3 nights in one of the roof top suites from 24-27th April 2008. The suite was more like an apartment and had the largest private roof terrace I have ever seen! Huge rooms stylishly furnished. The storks nesting nearby were an added bonus. Family members had rooms with small balconies on the ground floor and were very happy with them. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The ASK service gave helpful local information. The atmosphere was relaxed. The gardens beautiful. The whole hotel was clean and attractively furnished. Peace and quiet - very tranquil. My favorite ever hotel. Going back next May - wish it could be sooner. ...

Review of Prestige Palmera Plaza, Jerez de la Frontera

Parque de La Paz Hotel Review.

Advantages: Excellent location and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.
Disadvantages: Nothing stands out as being an issue.

Please bear in mind that Holidays in Tenerife are usually aimed at the 18-30 age group. The Parque de La Paz hotel is located in Playa de las Americas on the south of the Island. It is situated nearby a supermarket and a mere 400m from the wonderful beaches. Tenerife's reputation certainly goes before it and I found many of my ideas surrounding the island were wrong. It is true that Tenerife accomodates a large number of english tourists, however, i felt that part of the culture of the island remained in tact and the standards were certainly not low. As for the hotel i thought it was excellent value for money. As a £200 package holiday I felt the rooms were a great standard. The rooms were a good size with a lovely balcony and all the appliances you need. The rooms are cleaned daily by a cycle of friendly maids. Despite having a large ...
