...To speak about the city of Rome in a single opinion is impossible, there are too many monuments give to look. The beautifulr thing to see is without doubt the " colosseo" or "amphitheater Flavio", constructed from Vespasiano emperor in the I cen. D.C.. An other monument to admire is the " Gold Domus ", splendid dwelling constructed from Nerone and from little opened the visitors. There are then many other archaeological wonders like the Pantheon, the Imperial Holes, the Catacombe, the Traiana Column. I
suggets to pass one at least week to Rome in order to admire all the or greater part of monuments. There are also many restaurants where to eat good Italian food and
drinking optimal wine spending not much money....

...What a city. It seems to have everything.
If its culture you are after there is so much to see and the advantage is it is spread over a relatively small area. Even if you only spend a day in Rome you will have the opportunity to see the sights everyone else talks about. The Forum, St Peters, Vatican City, The Trevi fountains, the river Tiber, the coliseum and so muchmore.
If you are in Rome you will be able to see these in a leisurley fashion but if you are staying elswhere and get the opportunity for a flying visit for the day do not despair, jump at the chance. You will be surprised at how much you will be able to see and, of course photograph. It will be an unforgetable experience....

...So I have read a few reviews about Rome and thought I would drop some handy hints down once you are in the city, as it is one of my favourite european cities.
1. try and speak italian - even if it is "I don't speak italian well!!"
Non parlo italiano molto bene works well in the shops and restaurants and a lot of italians in the big cities speak some english.
2. beware of taxis - generally white or yellow coloured are licensed and learn the place names in Italian. You'll be less likely to be over charged.
3. When crossing the road - walk like you are on a mission. the traffic will stop when you cross at the designated "zebra" crossings, but don't hang about. Those passionate italians will shout and scream if you stop them for longer than necessary.
4. Walk as much as possible. Getting the buses is ok, but you'll miss so much...
