Advantages: great location and value for money Disadvantages: size of rooms
...I stayed in this hotel during easter 2008. I took a party of 30 pupils on a school trip to Iceland. This hotel is conveniently located with easy drop of for coaches. The reception staff were very helpful at all times regarding any matters. The rooms are cosy to say the lest, probably the smallest rooms i have come across however we were not there to sample the rooms. Bathrooms were clean and of an acceptable size. Views from rooms varied gratefull, either a view on a corridor, out onto other buildings or a stunning view if you are at front of building. Close walking distance to pizza hut, restaurants and there is a petrol station with shop across the road including a subway restaurant. Location for whale watchibng was also very close. The breakfast was simple but adequate. Dinners were the same, packed lunches made for us were large...

Advantages: In the heart of traditional Reykjavic Disadvantages: none
...sympathetically restored and intergrated into the fabric of the building and can be viewed from a glass window near the front of the hotel or by entrance next to the hotel for a small fee.
As the hotel is newly built it has good clean reasonable sized rooms, clean facilities and pleasing public spaces. The modern facilities merge well with the traditional frontage of the building.
The reception staff all speak good english and are very helpful too.
Breakfast is served in the hotel's dining room and is a buffet style comprising of all you would expect from this standard of hotel. The food was of a good quality and plentiful but was pretty similar all the time we stayed. this is not a complaint, just a comment. the dining room transforms into a restaurant at night. this was expensive but comparable to all eating out experiences in Reykjavik...

Advantages: cheap, great location, helpful staff, nice breakfast, nice facilities, tours Disadvantages: room very small and a bit cold
...all kinds of excursions from Northern Light viewing (if you lucky) to riding on Icelandic horses.
Step outside the hotel and within five minutes you are in the city centre. Close at hand is the Seafaerinn (Sea Baron cafe) which serves up whale kebabs (if you can stomach it) and lobster soup for approx £7. Huddle up on wooden benches with wind-blown salty sea dogs and fishermen for a feast. It's probably the cheapest meal in town. Other more luxurious and expensive restaurants are close by with such delicacies as puffin, reindeer and Icelandic lamb. I had trouble finding puffin on the menu as most places had a Christmas menu on, but Laekjarbrekka, a classic Icelandic restaurant situated in the heart of Reykjavík comes strongly recommended. Be careful though you are looking at £50 or more per head excluding wine!
Reykjavik is LOW KEY...

Another one of my bargain buys...my local savers really is the business!! This cost £2.00, which considering the cost of many lip treatments wasn't badly priced at all. I have tried to find out the RRP but can't find it on the internet... if anyone finds more
The following opinion has taken two weeks to prepare, not because of the time it has taken to write (although I do admit to being a slow at typing) but because I had to test the product to make sure it worked and I had to get it added here on ciao. So I... more
