HEREFORD CATHEDRAL
On our weekend away in Hereford, I could not miss the opportunity to visit this lovely historic building again. I admit I have seen more beautiful and spectacular Cathedrals and even churches; but this one has a beauty all of its own.
In one sense we picked the right time of year to visit as there were not too many tourists, but on the other hand it is January, it is quite cold (although the cathedral did have a great heating system) and the Library and the Mappa Mundi were not available to be seen.
The Mappa Mundi is the largest complete medieval world map which is housed in the cathedral alongside the chained library which houses manuscripts dating back to the 8th century. Sadly we did not get to this wonderful piece of history as it was closed for cleaning and some restoration work.
So back to our ...

Copenhagen
To celebrate a recent birthday (I forget the exact number) my wife treated me to a weekend away. I say treated me but we actually cashed in ten years worth of MY hard earned Airmiles and she paid the balance, but it's the thought that counts. We had intended to visit Vienna but upon realising that our visit would coincide with the semi finals of the Euro 2008 tournament - you know, the one we didn't qualify for - we decided that rather than share a romantic weekend away (sans children) with two hundred and fifty thousand tanked up footie fans (half of whom would be mightily annoyed by the end of the day) we would look elsewhere.
It didn't take a whole lot of thought to come up with our next choice: Copenhagen. To be honest I'd be hard pushed to think of things to see and do in Copenhagen off the top of my head; Tivoli ...
Advantages: Lots to do, easy to navigate, friendly people Disadvantages: Very Expensive
COPENHAGEN
My family and I had a lovely midweek winter break in Copenhagen, although there were a couple of hiccups (none the fault of Copenhagen itself) that I will come to later.
Copenhagen is both the largest city and capital of Denmark, a small country of 5.2 million people.Greater Copenhagen has a population of about 1.5 million people. The city is located on the island of Sealand (Zeeland) just across the Oresund Straight from Malmo, Sweden. A new bridge/tunnel was = completed in July 2000 linking those two countries.
It is the largest city in Scandinavia and is also the seat of Denmark's 179 member parliament (the Folketing).
Before I went to Copenhagen all I really knew about it was through the fairy stories of Hans Christian Anderson, I was very much looking forward to finding out much more.
We booked our ...

Manufacturer's product description
This is a steak restaurant with a big open grill, located just to the side of the main entrance of the Tivoli Gardens. The surroundings are favourable for enjoying your meal. You can choose to sit inside in the tastefully furnished restaurant, on the balcony, or outdoors on the terrace with a view over Tivoli (the last option is not recommended during the winter). Big steaks or fish cooked on the open grill are amongst the specialties of the house. Home-brewed organic beer from the brewery next-door come together with tempered wines and a humidor with a splendid selection of cigars. There is a good selection of Armagnacs and Cognacs, as well.
