CASA FRANCI BED BREAKFAST IN ROME

Advantages: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Disadvantages: Not Hotel for the softies out there.

mornings. To the left the Pub, quite a relaxed place for an evening drink. Fifty yards down the road in street opposite the Church are two Trattorias both were very good value & quality. So to sum up Basic Bed & Breakfast but great Location for Centre of Rome St Peters. One last thing in our room on Wall at Foot of Bed a 3 foot by 2 foot Illuminated Light Scene depicting a relaxed Nude with light bulb positioned ( you can guess) seemed out of character with rest of the place. ...

Take a Roman Holiday

Advantages: Good film, nice plot, good dialogue, extra features on the DVD
Disadvantages: None

Roman Holiday is a deliciously quirky romantic film, first realeased in 1953. It was directed by William Wyler and won several Oscar awards. The story is based around the fictional Princess Ann (played by Audrey Hepburn) who is visiting Rome, and feels the need (while under the influence of tranquilisers!) to break free of her confines. She meets American journalist Joe Bradley (portrayed by Gregory Peck) who, along with photographer Irving Radovish (played by Eddie Albert) take Princess Ann or 'Smitty' around Rome to see the sights. While Princess Ann believes she has deceived them and is enjoying a normal holiday, Bradley is planning to publish his interview and Radovish is taking photographs of the Princess acting like a common person. However, this all goes wrong when she and Bradley fall in love. It's a charming, heart ...

Review of Roman Holiday (DVD)

Fruit pie for breakfast? Yes, if you stay at Tuure B and B!

Advantages: A reasonable price for Finland, great breakfast, very clean and comfortable
Disadvantages: Rooms are quite small, lack of parking spaces may be a problem for some

This bed and breakfast is situated close to the bus station and just five minutes walk from the very centre of town. We arrived in Turku by train and walked the route in ten minutes so the location is good yet still quiet. Look hard, it's not easy to spot. The doorway looks like all the doorways on the block which is full of shops and offices. There is an entry buzzer to let you in; once you check in you'll have a key for this door. The B and B is up a couple of flights and there's no lift. It's not too bad but people with mobility problems should be aware of this. We hadn't booked in advance but there was a room available. We were checked in without fuss and while the owner wasn't effusive she was friendly enough. The bedrooms are off the main corridor as are the shared shower rooms. This does mean a certain amount of noise as ...
