...A city of some 45,000 people, Perth sits on the crossroad of the major routes to the Highlands of Scotland. Good quality roads from Edinburgh and Glasgow and a regular rail service (if a little slow) from both these cities.
During the summer months Perth has many passing tourists who find the quiet charm of the city a welcoming place. Many visitors will use the city as a base to explore further into major centres of population or unspoilt wilderness depending on what is wanted.
The city has a range of accommodation from a youth hostel, B&B, hotels and many eating places to suit most budgets.
I have always found the local people friendly and helpful - but do not expect the organised tourist centres of the larger cities.
In winter, Perth acts as a base for many skiers, less than an hour away from the Scottish Ski slopes. These same...

Advantages: easy to walk into town centre from here/beautiful views/very clean Disadvantages: very small pool/sound of traffic most of time.
...We stayed here for a week and found it an excellent place to be as we had never been to Perth before and it was so easy to either walk into the city (10-15 minutes) or hop on a free bus outside. The views from the apartments over the river and local parks and are beautiful. The staff were very helpful and kind and the rooms were well appointed and equipped as well as spotlessly clean. There is a restuarant on site and a few other places nearby but it is so close to town without actually being in it that it is easy to eat anywhere and have a drink then walk back to apartment. It was nice having your own apartment but also having the luxury of a hotel reception. There are two pools on site but they are very small and in fact one did not catch the sun for very long but then we were there to sight see so it did not matter....

Advantages: scenic beauty Disadvantages: many attractions not 'disabled' friendly
...Less than an hour from either Glasgow or Edinburgh, Perth lies at the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. As you travel up the A9 road from Perth (Inverness lies about 110 miles north) you are transported into a scenic wilderness with snow covered peaks almost all year round. The heather covered ground is home to deer and grouse.
There are any number of routes off this main road to tempt your adventurous spirit with lots of small towns offering affordable overnight accommodation. There are a number of well sign posted tourist attractions on route. I enjoyed the Hermitage and Bruar Falls. Pitlochry has a range of hotels and Bed and Breakfast starting at under £20 per person per night. Sign posted from the town centre is the local Distillery and a Dam complete with visitor centre.
Further up the A9, Blair Castle can be seen from...

My impressions of this game when I saw it advertised on the internet was that it looked like a completely different type of game that I'm used to seeing for the DS.

To best describe Hotel Dusk you could say it is an interactive novel in... more
I lived in New York City for a few years, but had little experience of its hotels until after I'd moved away. My husband and I stayed in the Library Hotel in late August of 2004 for two nights. After spending a few nights in one of its sister hotels the... more
