...Hotel Continental is located on the ramblas. See if you can get a room that has a balcony facing on the ramblas. The ramblas comes alive from around 6/7pm at night and is a fantastic site to see.
The hotel itself is a really nice hotel. The rooms are of a generous size and are decorated in a homely style. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and the patio doors shut out the sound of the ramblas very well. It is a great base for you to discover Barcelona which is a beautiful city with much to see and do. It is situated perfectly for shopping, for the bus tours, you must do this, for the beach at the end of the ramblas and the port itself.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also located very near to the train station so you are able to get to and from the airport via train should you wish to...

...The Hotel Nunez is a pleasant hotel located within walking distance of Las Ramblas and the main centre of Barcelona's legendary nightlife. The Hotel is also located approximately 2 minutes from the nearest underground station which allows easy access to some of the further a field sites such as the Camp Nou and the Gaudi Cathedral. This also makes it possible to use the train to and from the airport for added convenience.
The Hotel itself was clean and the staff were pleasant. It was also possible to access the internet from the hotel lobby at no extra charge. The Hotel provides good value for money at around €30 per night for a twin room, and the rooms are a reasonable size and pleasantly decorated.
Overall the Hotel is ideal for groups planning a weekend trip to Barcelona looking to find good accomodation, close to the city centre...

...i went to barcelona last year, it was a great trip. sun sea sand etc etc.
The beaches are small sandy and busy in summer the nearby marina is worth a visit.Hotels of all classes are abundant get one close to the city centre if possible then you can do all your sightseeing by foot.The ramblas area is close to the beach however is just a bit too touristy nowadays, just cafes and shops selling gaudy toys.
Near to the Ramblas just off the main walkway are some nice pakistani reteraunts excellent food at a good price. Be careful around this area however because there are lots of pickpockets operating, also a few small brothels that looked quite unsavoury.
Make sure you see some of the excellent architecture icluding the sgrada familia and the picasso museum.
Nightlife is great in all parts of the city, spanish women seem to love the tourists...
