Great for AECC but quite expensive during the week
Advantages: Close to AECC, helpful staff, clean rooms, extremely easy to find by road Disadvantages: Few cosmetic matters, have gotten better value for money in local B&Bs.
...my point of view the Holiday Inn Express was extremely convenient for attending events at the AECC, just a two second walk around the corner and voila! While the room was perfectly clean there were a couple of consmetic aspects that didn't live up to the price tag; including a bathroom door handle that was falling off, a faulty shower and the lack of shower mat. Despite this I though that the majority of the staff were friendly and helpful and that ...

Good location, modern room...but expensive
Advantages: Location, huge roon, free internet Disadvantages: Price
...and he said "Stay at Skene House on Rosemount….but be sure to ask to stay in the church". I found "the church" bit a bit odd but I followed the advice and booked the room.
The taxi from the airport was about 15£ and when I arrived the check in was fast and the receptionist called the concierge to show me to my room. It turned out that we had to walk out of the reception and walk across the street and into "the church". The building itself looked ... ...I found the bed at Skene house to be quite hard.
The other door in the hall led to the living room. The room included a kitchen table with two chairs, a two seat sofa, a chair, a living room table that could be stored under a desk and a Samsung flat screen TV on the wall. And one of the walls of the room was actually a full kitchen with s small fridge, a microwave oven, a water boiler, a stove…and the kitchen also featured cutlery, plates, glasses ...

More of a hostel than a hotel
Advantages: very close to cleaner places to eat out side of the hotel Disadvantages: not a clean place and very noisey due to the nightclug next door
A very disappointing stay, we didn't expect much from a 2 star hotel but we did expect to have a clean dry room of which we received neither.
Our windows had such a draft my husband and I hardly got a wink of sleep and the shared bathrooms where all in a state of disrepair and quite unhygienic.
Based on the hotels hygiene standards we decided to eat out in the city center, apon returning to our room in the evening we stepped over vomit on the staircase. ...

Travelodge Aberdeen-Brilliant Budget Accommodation
Advantages: Excellent Location, Excellent Value for Money Disadvantages: Slightly Noisey
I often stay in travelodges whenever i go on a city break. I stayed here with my partner a few months back as it was in a very central location(just 2 mins walk from the train station and it is round the corner from Union Street(the main shopping street in Aberdeen). The room cost £26 which was very good vaue for money and we stayed for two nights. The room we got was on the first floor which wasn't so great as we stayed over the weekend so there ... ...down Union Street and there were lots of seagulls causing so much noise. This of course meant that it was very tricky to sleep and relax. I stayed here on a previous occasion with a close friend of mine and our room was on the top floor and that was really great as we could sleep pretty well.
The room was the usual layout with a TV,sofa and pullout, chair.
double bed. The room was clean which was the main thing. The reception staff were pretty helpful ...

Having Fun & Getting A Rash
Advantages: Very central and reasonably priced with helpful staff. Disadvantages: No so good for those with sensitive skin.
...was with the Express by Holiday Inn. It was in the centre of Aberdeen – just off Union Street – and had limited parking available, although there was an NCP just down the street that we found out was free on evenings from 6pm – 8am and all weekend.
***The Arrival***
I had actually been at the hotel for an interview/training day, the day before we were due to stay there, and had already sussed out the reception area. I’ll give a bit at the bottom ... ...lounge bar area of the Holiday Inn we ordered a couple of Bacardis with a small bottle of lemonade. We were a little bit shocked when this came to £5.65 and soon decided that after having that one we would head out to a local pub instead. The lounge area was very comfortable with big sofas and coffee tables to sit around. The floor was laminated and looked very clean too. There was also a large plasma television on the end wall for those who wanted ...
