...Have you never watched a movie western where the action was in Abilene?
This city is located in the central part of Texas, some 300 kilometres west of Dallas, in an area called "The Big Country".
Abilene saw its birth on March 1881 when the Texas & Pacific Railways was completed with the opening of a railway station where now Abilene is. The newspapers of those days used to describe Abilene as the "Future Great City of West Texas".
Before the arrival of the railway the area of Abilene was time by time inhabited by tribes of American nomadic Indians, then by buffalo hunters and soldiers. Later arrived the "rancheros" and within 1870 all original American Indians disappeared from the area (the American Government called this action "civilization", I think it should be called "genocide").

Advantages: airy, nice decor Disadvantages: food is average
...I enjoy the Bougainvillea cafe as it is a perfect place to stop after walking and bargaining.
The cafe is all decked out in pink and the atmosphere is relaxed. It is located in a classic riad with an open space in the middle. There are also paintings and photos on the walls which are for sale.
The open middle offers air and sunshine. In the winter the cafe is heated.
The food is well priced but fairly average fare including pizzas, sandwiches and salads.
The service is good though and the cafe offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.
To get there enter the medina through Bab Ftouah and stay straight. Pass the FNAC Berbere and at the cafe is located at the end of the street....

...The Metro Cafe, situated on Hight Street in the centre of Manchester,
is, i have to say one of the best cafes i have had the pleasure of eating in, in a long time.
the Metro cafe has a european feel about it, yet whilst bringing a european feel to the city, they have pictures of manchester how it used to be in the early 50's, 60's...
on entering the cafe, you are shown to your table, and given a menu, you are neither rushed or forgotten about when it comes to ordering your food, and the people who own it are genuinely concerned that everything is ok with your food.
the food is excellent and not over priced, and the selection of pastries and cakes all fresh, will keep you going back for more, and if you just want to nip in for a coffee by yourself there are always newspapers on hand....
the Metro cafe is definately the place to go...

We had this machine about a year. Like the previous review, I agree it makes a pretty good cup of coffee - particularly a good crema and in just a few minutes - . You will definitely need to preheat the filter holder before making coffee otherwise it... more
