We booked online with hostel world.com. The booking was confirmed on 8th May 2006. As there was 5 of us going on holiday we chose to book a 6-bed room. The hostel recommended to us that we pay a bit extra for the sixth bed to avoid having a person we did not know sharing the room with us. We paid the final amount by card before we arrived.
We arrived at 11. There was a luggage storage room to put our cases in until we could check in. When we checked in, we were given security passes which were to be shown when entering the hostel. However, we never actually needed to use them.
We stayed in room 4B. In the room was 3 bunk beds, a dresser, a squeaky chair and a rail to hang clothes up. One thing that the room could have done with was a mirror over the dresser. I missed having a mirror to do my hair in. Other than that we had everything we needed. The bunk beds were a bit squeaky but comfortable enough. We had to make our beds. On each bed was a folded up sheet, pillow and a duvet.
The en-suite bathroom was ideal for us. It didnt have a lock though but that wasn't really a problem. The bathroom was reasonably sized with a shower, sink and toilet. The shower was an ordinary shower. It did have a bit of wear around the edges, but it was clean. I did find it hard though to shave my legs in the shower without getting my hair wet as there werent much room.
It is best to bring towels with you as the hostel only supplies them for a deposit. They do give you one which is changed each day. Unfortunately if you leave your towel on the bathroom floor they mistake it as one of there's and take it (thanks to my boyfriend leaving my towel on the floor I found this out).
They do have a list of rules and regulations in each room. One being that you're not allowed food and drink in the rooms. We did a few times manage to sneak pizza past reception.
There was a pool table, which because it was broken we got to play for free.
I would recommend Abraham House Hostel to anyone that wants cheap accommodation.
