Better than sleeping on the floor
Advantages: In the airport, inexpensive, convenenient Disadvantages: Only 40 rooms, no in-room internet
...You are travelling via Abu Dhabi, it's midnight, you've arrived to discover that your onward flight is delayed, or cancelled. Or perhaps you're flying from Abu Dhabi, you've checked out of your hotel and come to the airport for your overnight flight, and it is delayed. Or - as in my case - the midnight flight was full, I was hoping to get on at the last minute but no luck, and the next flight was not until ten in the morning. For whatever reason, ... ...into town. The Abu Dhabi Airport Hotel is located in the main terminal building, next to the Gulf Air lounge which is "airside" ie after passport control and customs. This is ideal if you are transferring between flights, as you have no worries about visas, clearing passport control etc. When you arrive, follow the walkway to Arrivals and turn left at the end. The Gulf Air lounge will be straight ahead. If you are flying from Abu Dhabi, then you ...

The best of both worlds
Advantages: Apartment independence with Hilton hotel comfort Disadvantages: Cheap soap dispenser, some slow service
...run by the Hilton, The Hilton Corniche Residence The apartments are located quite centrally just off The Corniche, what was the coast road until they reclaimed another patch of land, building out into the bay. Thankfully the new strip of land is being used for parks abd public areas, not building. What was The Corniche will now be the Old Corniche and the new seafront road will be called... well, you guess. LOBBY AND ARRIVAL The lobby is simple and ... ...to cook for themselves, the Hilton Residence does also offer dining facilities. Hampton's Restaurant is open all meal times, with a simple but sufficient buffet. It is light and bright, with the nice, large Hilton coffee mugs for breakfast. We did start the day there a few times, the breakfast was sufficient without being lavish, with the standard breads, salads, eggs and beef bacon and sausages, plus a japanese selection of soup, dried fish and ...

Millennium Hotel - Abu Dhabi
Advantages: Location Disadvantages: More of a business Hotel than for lesuire
...last year and choose the Millennium Hotel to stay in. We managed to find a taxi easily enough at Abu Dhabi airport and after a short drive (30mins) we arrived at the hotel. On first impressions I was a little disappointed. I had all these grand images in my head, but in reality the hotel seemed pretty standard. The room itself was quite basic (considering the price we paid), but it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel does have ... ...side) and area for catching some sun.
Getting around Abu Dhabi was fairly easy, taxi's are always available and very cheap. One trip I would recommend is the desert safari and evening barbecue. Driving up and down the sand dunes in the deserts was thrilling, I was holding onto the seat so tight and had my eyes closed for the majority of it, but It was worth it. The evening entertainment at the barbecue was really good, lots of belly dancing!
We ...

Maha is so Sweet
Advantages: Nice room, comfortable, clean, well located Disadvantages: Not cheap, only one restaurant and NO BAR!
Rotana is a chain of hotels in the Middle East. They are quite new and the ones that I have stayed in have been generally clean, efficient. They are not excessively luxurious but certainly comfortable, well furnished and equipped. I would place them at 4 star. There are two Rotana hotels in the Abu Dhabi; one on the beach, and the other one which I was in. It's located in central Abu Dhabi in the commercial and shopping area, a short cab ride from ... ...Corniche seafront. The hotel seems to be offering studio apartment type of accommodation rather than pure hotel, which gives a bit of independece. Om the downside, there is only one simple restaurant, and no bar! ARRIVAL AND RECEPTION The building is tall, looks very new and modern. The lobby area seemed rather small but considering the building is tall and narrow perhaps that shouldn't have been a surprise. There is a small seating area in the centre; ...

THE BEST HOTEL EVER
Advantages: location - in central Abu Dhabi, has a shopping mall, spacious rooms, safe, clean, fitness centre Disadvantages: construction works on the neighbouring island, small beach
...reasonable. Even though the hotel is now neighbouring with some construction works, I am still going to choose it the next time I visit Abu Dhabi. There is also Zen Spa, offering you fantastic ways to relax, a playground for the children, and a creche. The fitness centre and swmming pools are also fantwastic. After a day at the pool and the beach you can take a lift from the hotel straight to Abu Dhabi Mall. I definitely recommend this hotel and ...
