experienced at the Hesperia Sant Just on the outskirts of Barcelona. Apparently you can pre-book a pink room at no extra cost so I'm not sure if that's what our secretary did or if I was just randomly assigned to a Pinkie.
I'd probably been in the room for about an hour before I twigged that something odd was going on. I'd vaguely registered that there was a glossy magazine on the coffee table but since it was in Spanish and since a lot of hotels have magazines, that hadn't triggered any thoughts. I'd clocked the immense number of freebie toiletries in the bathroom including such non-standard delights as a bath sponge, conditioner, make-up removal towel, lip balm, deodorant, nail file and cotton buds but even with the discrete little box with tampons and sanitary towels, all I'd registered was 'hmm, I wonder if that's standard?' I'd marvelled ...
Who stays for several days and nights in Barcelona, he needs, is not private or has found accomodation in the youth hostel, a hotel. Because the supply was big for October and we did not know the town, the choice and the decision were difficult for a certain hotel!
Our criteria
Central position - because we were only four days in the town was that our main criterion.
To reach transport-technically well - already at home we had found out about the possibilities with metro and buses to be able to use them then also intensely.
Four stars, but affordably - of course is also the aspect in price always an essential argument for one Hotel. Whether it was also inexpensive then, then this will show itself only behind.

~~Reasons for choosing this hotel~~
I'd stayed in the Diagonal Mar area last year at a hotel opposite this one which had, in fact, been my first choice and I'd happily booked it, albeit for the wrong weekend!! I realised my mistake but my original choice wasn't available on the correct dates. Having looked at many alternatives including central Barcelona, I kept coming back to the fact that I really liked the area and had heard positive views of the ACBarcelona so decided to book here.

I booked through Hotelopia as they were offering the best deal which worked out at £317 for a 3 night weekend stay in September. I don't think this is too bad for a 4 star hotel although, as seems to be typical for Spanish city hotels, this doesn't include breakfast. There was an option available to include breakfast but ...
