...I bought an Acer1315LM last August as it was a very good price at just under £800.
For that price, I was getting 256Mb of RAM, a 15" TFT LCD screen, a massive 40GB hard drive (which was large at the time for a laptop), and a DVD-RW drive.
It came pre-installed with Windows XP, 3 months of Norton Anti-Virus, and Cyberlink PowerDVD. The last one was useful as the laptop also has TV out, so I now watch DVDs by linking up my laptop to my widescreen TV using an s-video and 3mm audio cables. This negated the need for a separate DVD player.
Functionality, it is reasonably fast, wich means you don't have to wait an eternity for something to load up.
The drawback to this laptop is the noise the fan makes. It is very loud!!!! The other drawbacks, which is probably minor for most people, was that it only had 2 USB ports (albeit USB 2...

...Brought an acer1315LM last August for just over £850. Had to send it back for repairs after 11 months as it wouldn't turn on, acer returned it after 3 days stating nothing was wrong! It fixed itself in transit - never had a problem since?
The LCD screen is very bright and clear with no blurring, although from time to time it goes a bit darker, something to do with the battery saving I believe. Never tried the TV out as no wire is included but did attempt to use dual monitors with the laptop screen and standard monitor - couldn't get it to work.
No windows XP cd is provided, instead you have a XP restore disk made from norton ghost. The version I had was totally unstable and crashed every 30 minutes, only when I did a real format did the laptop become totally stable. Drivers are available on the acer website.

...hello this Acer Ferrari 3000LMi - AthlonXP-M2500+ 1.86GHz - 15" TFT Notebook is a very excellent Laptop and it looks very good.
And it is very cheap just for about 200 - 500 pounds.
And it is not heavy this Notebook is very very fast like a really ferrari and a very big Screen bigger than normal ones and the coulor of the Notebook looks good. And it has Vista inside.
It has a very good Graphiccard.
this Notebook is good for the Money that you spend.
When you want to buy a good and nice Notebook buy this one.
You can put 2 USB inside and the battery get very very fast charged.
And the battery stays for long long time about 2 - 3 hours.

I bought mine on ebay for £360, I needed it for university study and it's working really well for small documents like word and excel and it will also play some games well, mainly Unreal Tournament online :-)
