Achat Hotel Dresden is centrally located in the beautiful town of Dresden, a city that exquisitely combines culture and the arts. The hotel has seven floors, serviced by an elevator, and the hotel offers 157 rooms classified into the categories Economy, Business and Comfort. 51 of them are two-room apartements and therefore also suitable for a long-term-stay. Simple decoration and furnishings characterize the guestrooms, all which feature high-speed wireless Internet access. The combined restaurant and brewery offers regional specialties, international dishes and a variety of freshly brewed beers. Due to its central location the hotel is most suitable as a starting point to explore the city as well as attractions in the vicinity. To make your approach as comfortable as possible the hotel offers you a garage with 109 parking spaces.
...This is part of my travel diary on a tour from Contiki. As part of the journey to Prague, we stopped at Dresden for a few hours and below is my experience.
Dresden, 124 miles south of Berlin, is the capital city for the state of Saxony. During the Second World War, the entire city centre was wiped out in the 1945 bombing which was master-minded by Winston Churchill. It is also the place where ex-president of Russia Putin stationed during the cold war.
Our first stop was the Frauenkirche(the Church of Our Lady). The Dresden Frauenkirche survived the firebombing of Dresden during World War II but was totally burned out and collapsed the next day. It has been reconstructed as a landmark symbol of reconciliation between former warring enemies. It is small in size but I have to say it is one of the most beautiful churches I ever...

...Four Points by Sheraton Konigshof, Dresden
Kreischaer Strasse 2, 01219 Dresden
We stayed in this hotel August 2007 for a two night stay in Dresden. We booked the hotel direct through their internet site.

We managed to get a special offer room for 60 euros per night and were very surprised to end up in the Hochzeit zimmer, or honeymoon room.
Location
The only difficulty we had was with the location of the hotel, we should have looked into this before arriving in Dresden to make sure we knew where we were going as we were using public transport, and the hotel was out of the main city centre. The hotel is situated on the Altstadt side of the Elbe, were the Zwinger and opera house are. We took the tram to get to the hotel it took about 10...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...
