The Acro is a popular hotel that my wife and I stayed in during October 2002. We booked on the internet through www.sashahotels.com, mainly because the costs were reasonable for Amsterdam and the reviews were very positive. If you're arriving at the main train station take the number 2 or 5 tram, journey is about 10 minutes and the hotel is just a two minute walk from the stop. Checking-in was easy and the staff spoke good English. The lift is very compact so don't arrive with tons of luggage. Rooms are 'compact' and they contain two single beds rather than doubles. I always rate hotels on the efficiency of the shower and the Acro comes out well on this purely subjective assessment. Because the buildngs are narrow the stairs are near vertical, so descend with caution. Breakfast is basic European and it is advisable to get down as early as possible as seating is limited. The hotel is close to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh and is just a 15 to 20 minute walk to the city's main attractions.

this sounds like a great hotel, so much more could be written, such as access to entertainment, amenities, hygiene, staff etc etc, if you write more i would re rate--nic
