My husband and myself visited Adams Rib on 5th January, after having been to a show. The Reastaurant is situated on Shaftesbury Avenue W1. It is very well placed for the theatres, and the Trocedero is opposite. Further along the road you have China Town.

We arrived there at about 6pm and the restaurant was fairly full, but we still managed to get a table by the window, which is where everyone wants to sit. There is a good view out over Shaftesbury Avenue, with buses taxes and the 'tuc-tuc' style bikes they now have to take people for rides in. Its interesting to people watch while waiting to order and eat your food.

On arriving we were shown quickly to our table and menus handed to us. The waitress gave us a few minutes then asked what we would like to drink. (red wine and sparkling water). As we were ready, she also took our food order.

This is an American style Restaurant, and it is mostly bbq ribs and wings which people choose to eat, but you can also order burgers, steaks, salads, sandwiches, and different styles of chicken. The starters range from prawn cocktail to spicy chicken wings to loaded potatoe skins. i rarely have room for desserts, but there is ice cream, apple pie,chocolate mud puding to name but a few. There is a good wine list, plenty of soft drinks to choose from, coffe, tea, and different flavoured coffee.

We have been to this restaurant plenty of times and have always enjoyed, usually having the ribs and wings, but a couple of times we have had the ribs and wings platter for two. You get to chooses between chips or jacket potato. There is plenty of food here freshly cooked and piping hot. Plenty of ribs and wings, with coleslaw, and loads of onion rings too. The ribs are tender and delicious. This time though we had the marine platter. Prawns, scampi, tuna steak and salmon steak, with onion rings and colesslaw. It was very nice although a bit disappointing to have the coleslaw on the bottom of the food instead of little tubs by the side of the platter. My husband commented that it was strange to be there and not have ribs to eat, and wanted to order ribs on the side, but I felt we had enough, and we did - no room for pudding, but I had a coffee.

The waiters and waitresses were attentive, polite and efficent. We didn't have to wait long for our food and it was hot and fresh. The place itself always feels cosy, warm and friendly. The tables were maybe a bit close, but its interesting to listen to other people converstations (naughty but good). There is bar that you can sit at afterwards if you wish, and the toilets are usually clean. I never feel hurried while I am there, even when we have finished eating, we don't feel pressured into leaving.
