...bandstand and open spaces, watch the University rowers practice on the Torrens River.
The Adelaide Botanic Garden and Zoo are next door to one another on north Terrace and are a must visit. The Zoo is well laid out, with moated enclosures that are landscaped. The zoo is involved in a number of conservation programs. There's a large shop with a wide range of zoo related gifts and information but unfortunately I'd never be allowed to bring back one of there famous sales - bags of 'zoo poo' , a rather more exotic fertiliser for the garden than my plants are used to!
The botanic gardens are very tranquil and if there is one thing Australia can boast it is an amazing array of flora. They have built a large conservatory, in fact conservatory doesn't do it justice as it contains medium sized (ie damn big!) rainforest trees.

Sight Seeing in Adelaide
---------------------------
1. Adelaide has its own Festival Centre, close to North Terrace. This one is more angular in design, and a lot cheaper than its big brother, the Sydney Opera House. It can seat 2000 people.
2. Visit the petting Zoo, and pet a few kangaroos, wallabies and the like. There is also a large Australian bird collection.
3. Another common theme in every large Australian city is the Casino. This is also on North Terrace. The casino is housed in the old railway station.
4. The Art Gallery of South Australia contains art from all over the world including China and Europe. You can also find plenty of Australian art in here.

If you don’t fancy a boat trip, the walk along the river is relaxed and easygoing and as the river isn’t that wide and surrounded by greenery it makes a very pleasant walk. Bicycles can also be hired here and it is possible to ride up into the hills in one direction and down to the beach in the other and all by the river.
Slightly further up King William Road is St. Peters Cathedral. This has spectacular stained glass windows and is a great place to rest and think. In roughly the same place as the cathedral is the Adelaide Oval, the place where the cricketing legend Sir Donald Bradman hung his cap.
Lights Vision on Montefiore Hill is a great place to go to take photographs of the city. The place is a tribute...
