Lenk and Adelboden share 2 sides of a mountain - the Metsch ski area, which is best suited for intermediate abilities. We skied in Lenk/Adelboden in January 2000 and stayed in a hotel in Lenk (on the other side of the mountain). The downside was that you have to drive/take the bus to the Metsch ski area, unless you are a beginner/lower intermediate and are happy to ski on the slopes adjacent to the village of Lenk. Once on the Metsch, however, there is a variety of interesting runs. Nightlife in Lenk is limited. It is possible to do a self-organised trip due to train connections between Lenk and Zurich airport.
