I stayed at this hotel during the half term holiday in October 2006 with my wife and our young daughter. I found the hotel had a great position as it was back off the main road, and right down on the beach.
The rooms were reasonable, though I am easily pleased due to not staying in the room for long. My attitude is that its just somewhere to sleep. Though they were clean, and the bathroom was good.
The weather was still 25-30 degrees centigrade every day and due to the time of the year the resort was not busy. I stayed in the hotel on a half board basis, though we weren't that keen on the evening meal options and usually went to a nearby taverna (of which there are many). The cost of a meal is very reasonable.
The hotel is approx 2 miles from Rethymnon, which is a small town with a lovely harbour and a fortress. There are an array of shops, and a McDonalds if you need a fix.
I found all the people that we came into contact with to be very helpful and friendly.
We didn't rent a car (though this is a reasonable priced option) but took local buses instead to Rethymnon, Knossos, and Heraklion. The price of the various buses was very cheap.
Knossos was very impressive, though slightly exposed on the side of a mountain so I would caution against going at midday due to the temperature - it was very hot when we went and that was not in the middle of summer.
Hotel has its own pool and this was fully enjoyed.
I would fully recommend this hotel for a reasonably priced stay in a nice climate.
