On my three visits to Liverpool I have always visited the Adelphi Hotel which I reckon is a superb hotel and is not that expensive. If you judge in terms of value for money it is really good value.There are often special or mid week breaks offered by the Britannia group of hotels and they are at rates much below the rack rate. The public rooms at the Adelphi are sumptuous to say the least.You can imagine all the shipping tycoons and wealthy merchants and their families sipping afternoon tea in the magnificent lounge. The quality of the service at this fine hotel matches the surroundings. The sunday lunches are moderately priced and well worth sampling. There are a lot of facilities at this city centre hotel and my husband enjoys the bars very much.The Adelphi also has a disco for the younger crowd
