Advantages: excellent food, good rooms, good pool Disadvantages: none really
...This really is an excellent hotel. I stayed here about two years ago and it is definitely one of the top few hotels I have been to. My family and I ate in a couple of the restaurants and one of them was outstanding. The other, where you cook your own food was slightly confusing and we didn't really get to grips with it so it wouldn't be fair to criticise. However, the main restaurant where we ate several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner was superb. We usually ate from the buffet and both the selection and quality of the food was outstanding.
The leisure facilities at the hotel were good too. I often used the rooftop pool and this wasn't busy and always had a pool attendant. There was also a gym, which my dad used, and several shops, including a tailor providing good-value suits - although this is normal in Thailand.

Advantages: Personal service, economical, 5 star Disadvantages: None
...got to the Sheraton and we were in our room in five minutes after arrival.
The next day we were picked up by another lady and taken back to the Dusit Thani.
We stayed a total of four days at the Dusit Thani and every morning we received a box of chocolates and the same coconut drink. We were given a Junior Suite and billed for the normal double room. We were invited to the daily cocktail party at the hotel, compliments of the manager.
The hotel has all the facilities one would expect from a 5 star hotel and has extra facilities such as the “Bubble Disco” which is the “in-place” in Bangkok. They even have a radio feed from the disco into all the rooms, so you can listen to all the latest music being played down in the disco. Once we were in our room and when we realized that they had started playing slow songs, we...

Advantages: Its an amazing experience! Disadvantages: Nothing you cant handle!
...So, if you read the first part of my opinion on Bangkok, you probably wanted more info! Here it is.
So you arrived and walked out of the airport into a wall of humidity! Take a cab into Bangkok and ask to be taken to Suk 11 Hostel, if you do nothing else I recommend, in Bangkok please stay here. Heres the website so you can see why for yourself.http://www.suk11.com/. It is wonderfull here, its in the posh part of town but you pay the same as on crowded, noisy, sometimes dirty Khao San Rd. Sukk 11 has shared facilities in the form of dorms or en-suite rooms with shower and these rooms are fantastic. its 250 baht pppn for dorm, 500 pppn for single en-suite or 600 for a double with either a double bed or two singles. Does'nt take a genius!
These prices include Breakfast which is great, kind of a continental breakfast and as much as you...

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
