Manufacturer's product description
There's nothing Venetian about this saloonlike pizzeria with shelves of imported stouts and Americana signage on the walls. Seventy-nine pizza combinations include the Campagnola, lavishly topped with a mix of tomato, mozzarella, mushroom, Brie, and speck (smoked prosciutto). Purists can stick to the margherita, with tomato, mozzarella, and basil. A selection of 16 salads plus a few pasta dishes make the Oche an ideal stop for a light meal between sights.
Advantages: One of a kind Disadvantages: Kind of crowded
...Venice Boardwalk is a one of a kind place. No where in the world will you find a stretch this wierd and intersting. Right next to the beach, venice is a great way to spend a few hours or a whole day in Los Angeles. It passes through Muscle Beach as well, which is an outdoor gym. The boardwalk is lined with small shops and tatoo parlours on one side and vendors on the other. Also, there are human statues, comedians, and picture opputunities. The parking is a little bit expensive if you take your own car, but the shops and vendors are fairly cheap. If you have never been to Venice Boardwalk, you're really missing out on a special spot!...

Venice was no better, with flooding in St Mark's Square. Very kindly, planks were placed across for pedestrian use as the water was an inch deep in places. Not many people get to see Venice like this, but it is common in winter time when the lagoon swells. People who lived and worked in Venice were going about their daily hustle bustle, dressed in winter clothing with umbrellas and wellies. I had seen Venice like this before as a child, and it had stuck in my mind. I had also been in summer, when it was full of holiday makers, but to go...

Venice is trully worth the trip, the travel and the money. We took a water taxi to the airporon leaving. We did it at sunrise, it was trully spectacular....

Firstly the photos of the hotel and room are quite deceptive; the Carlton Grand Canal Hotel is a crummy looking hotel with tiny rooms but apparently this is to be expected in Venice- it is also useful to note that there are many dilapidated looking... more
