Paradise on Kos!

Advantages: Great Setting, Close to Airport, First Class Food, Very Clean, Wonderful!
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

For those of you that don?t know I?m at University and one of the perks (along with student debt, economy food and lack of clean housing) is exams! How my mum can ever say she enjoyed them I really don?t know! Now I?ve spent the past 4 hours sat at a desk trying my hardest to concentrate but my brain just isn?t haven?t it and I?d say I?ve spent about 3 of those 4 hours daydreaming and remembering more fun times! So I?m going to tell you all about my heavenly summer holiday last year on the Greek Island of Kos ? just to remind myself how depressed revision actually makes me! Last summer me and my boyfriend happened to find ourselves outside the First Choice Holiday Hypermarket in our home town ? totally by accident, it just happens to be located opposite our local Pizza Hut restaurant and we decided to have a wonder in. Fast forward ...

THE JEWEL OF THE AEGEAN

Advantages: it's paradise!
Disadvantages: perhaps a little too quiet for some

I'm back for a second attempt at holiday writing ~ this one has been harder because this holiday seems like so long ago! We visited Kos in May 2001. The holiday was for a week only ~ but we were excited because it was my first time abroad, and one of the first for my parents. Because we were only there for a week, we probably didn't get around as much as we would have liked (hence my 'Places to Visit' section being quite short), but we did see enough to get a general impression on the island as a whole. We stayed in the quiet village of Mastihari, so a lot of my review will revolve around it. ~*~ GENERAL INFORMATION (KOS) Kos is the third-largest of the Dodecanese islands (Rhodes is the largest), with a population of over 27,000. It's actually quite far away from my holiday destination this year (Zakynthos) ~ Kos is ...

KOS - Isle of Views

Advantages: great beaches, historic places, good nightlife
Disadvantages: not much

I've been to five or six Greek islands, but Kos is still my favourite. Kos is one of the most beautiful and sunniest islands in the Aegean Sea. It is the third biggest of the Dodecanese (meaning twelve in greek) Islands. It has historic monuments, beautiful weather virtually all year round and it's white sand beaches are lapped by crystal clear water. Am I painting an enticing picture so far? Kos Town is the Island's capital and there you can get away from beachlife for a while and steep yourself in some Greek history by visiting the historic monuments. The town has modern broad streets bordered with trees, big squares, and houses with gardens. You will hit by the fact that there are so much greenery and trees around, fir, pine tree, cypress, eucalyptus, oak, jarmine, lilac, acacia and hibiscus. Take a stroll on the rock paved ...
