re service novosibirsk-moscow-dusseldorf-manchester -------------------------------------------------------------------i was unfortunate to travel with aeroflot on this route 15-16 sept 2004.flight SU722 departed novosibirsk,some 90 mins late due to "weather problem". arriving at terminal 1 with approx 35 mins to change terminals for flight SU117 to dusseldorf,there appeared to be only ONE baggage handler. at the term 2 check-in ,pandemonium broke out.for some reason passengers were told, only GERMAN nationals, would be boarding.when i protested,i was told by the duty manager,anyone with SENSE and MONEY,would NEVER fly with aeroflot. along with numerous passengers ,i was taken to the hotel SOYUZ to be accomodated overnight,prior to taking the same flight number,the following day to dusseldorf. i was not given the opportunity to telephone those unaware of my plight.. having used up all of my roubles, i met a kind georgian lady who lent me the use of her mobile to contact my husband, in UK, to give him my room and telephone number .he later telephoned me.fortunately, he had called at home before going to meet me for the scheduled arrival at 3 pm in manchester (from dusseldorf)and found my message on the answerphone. my husband,checked via the internet and found there were 2 or 3 later flights that day,WHY were people not put on these ? he sent several e mails to sheremetyevoairport, and was advised to send any claim to mr V V Smirnoff,at moscow airport.he sent him a short letter via their "open line",saying that aeroflot were a world class player ,supposedly,but acting like a third rater ,flying DC3's out of Timbuktu ! also that they could put Gagarin in Space,but not a lady on a flight !! after a sleepless night and full of intrepidation, i arrived the 16th for my flight to dusseldorf,my ticket was endorsed by aeroflot,explaing the reason for the 24 hour delay(?). on arrival at dusseldorf my ticket was NOT in order,and via the airport manager,was then escorted,highly embarrassed,through the Schengen border,by 2 armed guards,to the aeroflot check in for the correct documentation to be issued. i duly arrived in UK 24 hours late ! i have written repeatedly,via my husband's pc, to aeroflot in russia and u k,and sent copies of e mails by recorded delivery post.to date they have not had the courtesy to either acknowledge,or reply to them. this company certainly has a long way to go to show any concern for their PAYING clients. in future, i will use the services of Czechairlines,via prague,to moscow,and then the "scenic" train route to siberia

Sounds like a nightmare journey but to be fair, weather delays can happen with anyone. Certainly it doesn't sound like they made much effort. I've flown Aeroflot over 30 times and only had couple of delays - yes they weren't handled that well but the flights themselves have mostly been fine. Your op would be much more helpful if you told us something - anything - about the flights - service on board, the seat comfort, the food, etc. Also hope you don't mind me saying that grammar and capitals would make it much easier to read. If you do make any changes please leave a message in my guestbook and I will gladly rerate. Cheers. VB
