Aeroflot used to be a joke. I did not want to fly Aeroflot but I went in 1999 from Moscow to Vladivostok which is about as far as London to Vancouver. I tried very hartd to find soime other way, even if it meant going via Anchorage but no one could tell me about the flights from Anchorage to Vladivostok, so I had no choice. However, I had no regrets! The flight was perfect, service OK, legroom OK, food good. I had thought they might post-Glasnost improve on international flights but never expected anything good on an internal flight where they have a monopoly. Instead what I found on an internal flight was as good as I've ever found on any internal flight. The plane was exactly on time. So cut the bad jokes about Aeroflot, please.
