My partner & I have recently arrived back from 1 week in Agadir. Admittedly we didn't take up any of the trips to Marakesh or anywhere else as being on a one week stay we were after rest and relaxation and spending days marching around towns was not on our agenda. However, we would love to return and would consider the trips as they all seem pretty well planned (the only hint we picked up about the trips, the 1 day trip to Marakesh is a very long day - leaving resort around 6amish and returning 1amish) For the week, we ate fantastically and particularly recommend Fouqets and Taco Loco in Agadir. Great menus, fantastic price and brilliant service. The Jazz Restaurant was also a favorite of ours for lunch. The majority of the beach side café's sport identical menu's, mainly consisting of various fish dishes, Moroccan dishes, salads, pasta's such as bolognaise, lasagna etc, pizza's and plenty of meat dishes - steak, lamb, chicken - all at super prices. Tagadirt Hotel was charming and the staff right through from the Reception Team, the Bar Staff to the Animation Team were polite, friendly, funny and lots of fun to be around. The Animation Team work hard all through the day to keep all entertained - from darts to water football, to made up games in the swimming pool and in the evening there was a selection of evening entertainments from a snake charmer, magician to the 'Cabaret Show' (all start around 21.30 and are usually ended with some dancing for the kids and a few of the adults on stage with the Animation Team by about 22.15-22.30) - the Cabaret Show is made up and put on by the Animation Team and in its very naïve and simple way - was hilarious and great to watch, although I guess this is not to everyone's taste. Hotel rooms are simple and basic, but clean, comfortable and there is plenty of space. The pool is lovely and a decent size, there is also a smaller pool for the little ones on a different level from the main pool and a pool side snack bar that provides all the essential food/drink required to accompany a hard days sunbathing and swimming. The terraces round the pool are limited as are sunbeds and guaranteeing a bed with all day sunshine will require you to be up early and ready to get your towel in position!!! Shopping is fun and haggling is what it is about, whatever the cost of something is - we were told to offer 25% of the price and eventually haggle to you get it to 50% off the original price, I can say I did try this and it DOES work!! For those less keen, there are 'Fixed Prices' shops where everthing is priced and no haggling involved!! Apart from trinkets and bits and bobs there is little to buy in Agadir but the leather goods - handbags, jackets etc are well worth a look as there are some fantastic quality products and a very good price!! If you are looking for a home-from-home Agadir is not the place for you, there are no English bars and breakfast 'as we know it' is difficult to come across and usually consists of pastries, pancakes and omelets. If you are looking for a multi-cultural, quiet, relaxing holiday this will be up your street. On a personal note, we had a fantastic time and the week passed too quickly. We would love to return and are even considering a visit later this year.

Advantages: morroco has an inspiring culture, the weather is beautiful. Disadvantages: the locals are likely to hassle you especially if you have blonde hair!
