At first I was irritated..awoken at a most unsuitable hour to be dragged to the railway station at New Delhi. Agra is a couple of hours away by train, and I arrived there to find the early morning haze had lifted.
What a wonder it was, I shall never forget my first glance over the river to gaze at the marvel that was 'a tribute to love'. I spent hours walking around, taking in the immense spleandour of this attraction, its perfect symmetry, shimmering marble and wonderful surrounding gardens. Locals told me that the original Mahal has a gold dome that was sadly looted, and that in recent time, due to local industrial pollution the dome has somewhat darkened.
Steps should be taken to curb this, simply to maintain this incredible monument and tribute to the ancient dynasty.
