I'm going to nottingham uni to study medicine. I'm also an avon rep! In my spare time I like listening to music and chilling with friends. I'm off to uni soon so i'm busy packing. Any suggestions as to what i should definitely not be without?

It had been my dream to go to the Taj Mahal for so long. Its sheer beauty seemed to grab a hold of me everytime I saw a picture of it. My eyes were fixated and I found myself unable to tear myself away from the different pictures I came across. I desperately wanted to see the amazing mausoleum for real.
Soon my time came as my family had decided to visit the North of India in order to see Agra, Jaipur and Delhi. I was so excited at this prospect and made sure that I had 1 whole film just for the Taj Mahal. When the day finally came for us to visit it, my cousins and I decided that we would close our eyes before entering the grounds so that the first thing we saw was the tomb in all its glory, not blocked by obstacles. The streets were so dusty and the weather was muggy. Despite feeling lethargic due to the sweltering heat, we carried on regardless.
Once we had paid for our ticket, we walked into the grounds, our parents guiding us as we had closed our eyes by this point. On entering the park, we opened them to reveal this immensely beautiful building, pearly white and bewitching. The sheer brilliance of the marble was breathtaking and we almost had to shield our eyes from it. It was far, far better than anything I had ever imagined. It took me more than an hour to actually reach the mausoleum as I just stared at it for a long time. Having also learned about the tragic story behind the building of the Mahal, I felt drawn even closer towards it. There was definitely an air of mystery about it and I am not just saying that to make my writing sound better. What was more strange, was that the weather did not appear as suffocating and the filthy streets had been eradicated from my memory. Here, the gardens were immaculate and the heat no longer troubled me.
The marble was inscribed with intricate gem artwork that must have taken such a long time and plenty of skill. It was awe-inspiring and to think that Shah Jahan built this as a tomb for his wife. Apparently however, it was supposed to be more than that. He wanted to mirror heaven and hell right here on earth. He was planning to build another Taj Mahal out of black marble but I don\'t know too much about that.
It was wonderful to see the white marble appear to change shades due to the position of the sun in the sky. First it was brilliant white, then grey and then pink as the sun set in the horizon. At night time, the moon shone so bright that the Taj appeared almost ghostly white. I can\'t tell you how fantastic it was using just words. You really have to see it to believe it. I\'m already planning my honeymoon there! I just got to find a nice guy! I hope that everyone who visits it has a great time. You can easily spend a whole day just looking at this wonder of the world.
