At last the holiday we had all been waiting for. The days had been counted and the day was finally here.
When we arrived at the airport we were met by a lady who worked for Air2000 and pointed us in the right direction of the correct check in desks. When you are going on holiday you would expect to be met by a nice smiling, happy person when checking in. Unfortuantley this was not the case with us. Our lady on check in was more interested in chatting with her neighbour on the next air2000 desk and catching up on the gossip. Obviously saftey wasn't much of an priority with her as she only just managed to ask us if we packed our own bags. She was too busy chatting while we were standing there waiting. I hate flying and am totally paranoid and that really annoyed me.
We went to our appropriate gate before boarding and waited paitentley. Ten minutes before take off they started calling seat rows for boarding of our flight. When we gave in our passports and boarding passes the staff were again miserable and seemed like they didn't want to be there.
The cabin crew pointed us in the right direction for our seats which is fairly helpful for anyone who has not flown before. They also helped people put things into the overhead compartments.
Obviously we missed our slot but in the end were only an half an hour late taking off. Cabin lights were dimmed for take off and we were shown the saftey video of Air2000. I know most planes
have their own saftey procedure so I find it quite important to watch. They got through everything from fastening your seatbelt/air supply/brace position/emergancy exit/lifejackets etc. Also they had infomation on keeping the circulation moving in your body. I think that this is good as deep vein thrombosis was not very well recognised until recently.
The flight was generally okay going and coming home. We passed storms which made a few little bumps but not bad enough for the seatbelt sign to be switched on.
They serve a selection of drinks (soft and alcoholic) and snacks on board which I generally try not to buy on short haul flights as they are fairly expensive for what you get. This applies to most small flights not just air2000.
Our meal going was Thai Chicken curry, which for airline food was reasonable. We also had a bread roll and proffiter rolls. Cabin crew then served tea or coffee and orange for children.
In the pocket in front of me there is a saftey card/inflight magazine and book with gifts and perfumes etc (which could be brought from the trolly) I had a flick through the inflight magazine and nothing caught my eye so i didn't bother reading it. My other halfs magazine was ripped so if he had wanted to read it he would have had a job and would have had to have read mine.
The toilets were in the middle of the plane we flew in and one at the front. It was announced that we were only allowed to use the toilet at the front if a member of cabin crew was present (Obviously not in the loo but behind the curtain where the toilet was!!) Personally trying to get hold of a cabin crew member during a short haul flight when they have 200 odd people to sort out I decided it was easier to make my way to the middle to spend a penny.
Something that really annoyed me was the fact that if you wanted any of the inflight entertainment you had to buy their headphones or if you had your own an adapatar as they are two pin not one. Headphones were available for £3.00 and adaptars were £1.00. I thought this was a rip off considering I have been on other flights where they give you the headphones. I point blank refused to line their pockets with yet more money but my other half brought a pair and they were the cheapest and most tackiest things I have ever seen. They clip round your ear and are a bit rubbish in my opinion.
The inflight entertainment going was 'bend it like beckham' and coming home 'about a boy' and various music stations. I just tried to sleep.
Conditions on the flights were typical charter, short haul flights - (except for virgin sun which now mr branson has decided to only do transatlantic and virgin sun is no-longer. Thats a shame) cramped and 'used an abused'.
My other halfs tray was slopped so if we had had a bumpy ride his dinner would have ended up in my lap! and his chair cover was all coming apart (i think he got the bad seat!)
Going the cabin crew were reasonably polite and helpful.
Coming home, we borded the plane in plenty of time and took off right on time. The staff on the return flight were miserable. I know it was 04.30am but i had been awake over 30 odd hours and was flying home from my hol and I had more enthusiasum than they did.
The plane had abviously not been very well cleaned from the inboud flight as there was food and crumbs all over our seats and the floor where we sat.
Again the usual snacks and drinks were available for purchase. The breakfast came (by this time i was really hungry) and all we got was a naff bacon roll and a small chocolate muffin - end of. All I ate was one bite of roll and the muffin. The cabin crew again served tea/coffee and hot chocolate on the way home. Disgusting is the only word I can use.
I brought some perfumes from the trolly (I like to stock up when I go away) which were reasonable price. I got a free bag too for spending over £35.00. In the book it said I got a choice of two but no I wasn't given a choice and got what I was given - the cheap naff one.
All I am glad for is Air2000 got us there and back in one bit and thats about all.
If you ever go on holiday with first choice you will more than likely end up on an air2000 plane. We went with Kosmar (My bad op on air2000 is no reflection on kosmar - see my other op) so you could end up on one of their flights anyway if you don't go with first choice. Our holiday was just over £300.00 each so maybe I am being a little harsh on air2000 but to me it seems like they need to teach their staff some customer serivce and get them to all stop being so flippin' miserable. I know there will always be miserable people but it seems like the most of the company is miserable as sin.
Conclusion- like i say above they need to sort out their customer service and I wouldn't personally choose to fly with them again.

Nice op - full of good info that confirms that I will never fly with them again! I went long-haul with them to Mexico... Possibly one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had! :(

Advantages: Nice staff, clean aeroplanes, good entertainment and food, on time flights (in my experience any way) Disadvantages: Just another money grabbing charter airline (I've probably been very lucky with them so far)
