... Air2000 is on your tail!
Where do I start with my latest escapade? Start with the not so exciting I think.
We booked this holiday on the Thursday before we left, going on the following Sunday. This is certainly the best way to book - saves peeing your pants with excitement.
We booked through Teletext holidays as usual and the flight was from the most local airport - Birmingham.
We got to Birmingham picked up our tickets and promptly found we were going to Mexico via...... some where exotic? No... Manchester!
Great, we took all of 17 minutes to get to Manchester from Birmingham and spent the next 2 hours on the runway, great! Especially when you already have a 10 hour flight ahead!
The plane itself was a Boeing 767, this holds 322 passengers and is used for their long haul journeys. They have normal seating for us mortals and Classic Premium for those with more money than sense! This is by no means an insult but if you could see the difference between the two you would wonder what the difference was! a little bit of wood to decorate the arms of the seats and slightly more seat room.
The leg room was terrible, the usual round them up and pack them in you would get on a budget airline. I know they have to make their money but have they not heard of DVT? You have to pay for everything on the flight - including water, unless you wanted to trek half way down the aisle to get yourself an egg cup size drink of water!
Maybe I expect too much, I have flown with some of the best airlines, these include BA, Cathay Pacific and Quantus. Maybe I'm spoilt and expect a little more from an airline.
The plane itself was in good condition, it had over head TV's rather that the ones on the back of the seat, great if you want a cricked neck before you even get to your destination (and not from the dodgy pillows in the hotel!)
The food was terrible, when on my first ever flight people were saying how much they disliked air food. I have had nothing bad to say about the food previously - even on budget airlines! This one though was awful. The main meals were hardly enough to keep you going, I suppose this was so you would spend a fortune on the over priced Pringles and popcorn! - The food was especially bad when you know you have paid £15 per person for that slop!
The staff, how were they? It depends on what you want from Airline staff, do you want them to be professional and put those weary travels at ease? Well if you do this is not the airline for you. The staff were wandering round wearing a wig - God knows where it came from! Some may find this funny but I'm sure this wouldn't happen on other flights. They also made an announcement over the tannoy for someone who had left their dentures in the toilet - how we laughed!! I'm sure the person didn't when at the destination they names the seat row and number! Was funny but I'm sure there were passengers on board who would disagree with me.
They were efficient at loading you on and off and if it wasn't for being sat directly behind Classic Premium on the way back with a smidgen more leg room I think I would have a lot more harsh words to say (a hangover and late night previously also helped me sleep most of the way home!) Like this isn't bad enough, imagine what harsh evil words would be cascading out of my mouth now! (Not for family viewing anyway!)
My final say would be that I would certainly not fly with this airline again, I think Easy Jet and Ryan Air should watch out, they may lose some customers to this new up and coming budget airline!
Thanks for the read.... nice to be back!
p.s - the old boy asked me to marry him whilst on holiday!! WOOHOO!
Do you have to pay for food on flights now? You know I'm so out of touch - I haven't flown for maybe 4 years now. I'm going abroad next year though and thankfully it's not with Air 2000! Ali x

congrats on engagement - legroom is never enough on charter long haul flights.
