FLEET

Air Berlin owns one of the youngest fleets of Europe; the average age is below two years! Air Berlin still changes its fleet from Boeing 737-400 to Boeing 737-800 since it has a larger range, more passenger seats, it flies faster and because of the Winglets less kerosene is needed.
Security is very important for Air Berlin: as the first German charter-airline it introduced the anti-collision system TCAS.

I flew with Air Berlin between Manchester and Hamburg just before Christmas on a route that used to be operated only by Lufthansa (another German airline). The cost of my flight in total was just under £70 although if I had booked earlier then I would have no doubt got the flight cheaper!
The flight left from Terminal One at Manchester airport and check-in was very busy with two flights departing at more or less the same time but there ...

Air Berlin Low cost Flight s to Germany and Beyond
This summer was the first time I had flown and to say I was nervous about my first flight was an understatement, especially as I had heard terrible things about other low cost air lines. I had nothing to worry about. The staff were pleasant and efficient and with the added bonus of being able to check in online the night before there were no worries about where I would be sitting. The flight I took ... ...I booked the flight with Air Berlin direct on there website www.airberlin.com which has since been improved since I booked my flight. The lowest fare is highlighted on the day you wish to travel but there are several flights either side of the date chosen ...

Surfing the Air Berlin website I was able to book two sector flights.
124 Euro (airport taxes and fuel surcharge included) to fly from Milano-Orio al Serio (that means Bergamo) in Italy to Düsseldorf in Germany/return; and then 58 Euro (airport taxes and fuel surcharge included) to fly from Münster-Osnabrück in Germany to Palma di Maiorca in Spain/return.

The cabin crew is courteous and efficient, and speaks English and German.
After take-off I get a small tray with two slices of salami and a small piece of cheese, a roll and a slice of cake. I get also a choice of a soft drink or coffee or tea (wine and alcohol are sold ...

Advantages: Very good prices, good service, growing destination catalogue, very good airmiles programme Disadvantages: Still not too many destinations possible, 1 bad experience (although it was on boxing day)
I started flying with Air Berlin about two years ago, until then i'd never heard of them but they offered a cheap flight to where i had to go so i thought i'd give them a go. I've heard alot of horror stories about so called budget airlins and wasn't really expecting alot but to be honest, i was very pleasantly surprised. The flight ran smoothly, the staff were friendly and the food was ok, especially as it was free. I have since then flown many ... ...now flown several times with Air Berlin and haven't had any problems, i can only recommed it and if they fly to where you want to go, i'd advise you to take a look, you can do alot worse.
It is also worth noting that Air Berlin has become the second largest airline in Germany and continues to grow, with this growth comes more flight destinations.
To answer the questions on the comments board,, boarding is very good, you will be assigned a seat ...

It must be very difficult to write a guidebook. So much information on a city or country to cram into one book small enough to be convenient for tourists. The guidebooks I have read (a fair amount- I like to plan!) tend to either have lots of information more
