Background:
The Columbus Hotel is located within the principality of Monaco which is a small area nestled between France and Italy, no longer than 3 miles across!
The hotel features 9 floors of cool, contemporary rooms and suites and was constructed in 2003 and is part owned by world renowned racing car driver David Coulthard. The hotel is located in the newly reclaimed area (from the sea!) Font Vielle and is approximately a 15 minute walk into Monte Carlo. The whole around the hotel is clean and new and it is less than a two minute walk to the beach and in under 5 minutes you will have walked to the fashionable Cap D'ail in France.
The location:
Surrounded by residential apartments the hotel is quiet without much passing traffic and you do get a sense of seeming some local colour and community a this hotel as one either ...
Advantages: Almost Excellent airline to fly with. Disadvantages: £4 booking fee if not using a Visa Electron card.
Introduction
I have used this air plane a number of times in booking flights and travelling to Prague from London Luton airport and have been generally pleased with the service throughout the buying process. The aircraft are generally Boeing 737 planes and the company flies to many European destinations. What makes this company stand out are its cheap fares which are very reasonable and affordable indeed.

I have checked the prices and compared them generally to Easyjet and have found that at times it is cheaper to fly with Wizz air on the outbound flight, and in using Easyjet on the return leg of the journey. Carry On Columbus was an attempt to resurrect the spirit & success of the Carry On films, but coming some fourteen years after the last one, it was a case of 'too little, too late'.
The story is based around the tale of Christopher Columbus & his discovery of America. Jim Dale pleasingly takes the title role & seeing him in another Carry On role is the best thing about the film.
It is a nice touch that many of the 'old' Carry On cast feature in this one - June Whitfield, Leslie Phillips, Jack Douglas, Bernard Cribbins & Jon Pertwee.
As for the newcomers, they obviously have a difficult act to follow, as people like Sid James & Kenneth Williams can rarely be imitated effectively. (I would have said never, until I saw 'Cor Blimey' !!)
I think Julian Clary & Rik Mayall are the best of the new team, but they do lack the special qualities ...
