Advantages: Vibrant, cosmopolitan city and stunningly beautiful lakes Disadvantages: Pricey, dirty and plagued by annoying gypsies
..., there was plenty of internal noise coming through from other rooms. There was no air conditioning and no tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom lacked a tub – we had to be satisfied with shower facilities only. There was satellite TV, but CNN was the only English language channel. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special, consisting of fruit juice, tea/coffee, cereal, hard-boiled egg and slices of ham and cheese. The staff was reasonably helpful, but often seemed harassed and stressed. Last but not least, the hotel had no restaurant.
CITY SIGHTS:
The main landmark of Milan is undoubtedly the impressive gothic cathedral, known as the ‘Duomo’. Inside it is dark, spacious, intimidating and cold (literally), while outside it is mightily imposing and dominates the large square on which it is located.

Advantages: I wasn't paying, my room was clean, good breakfasts. Disadvantages: Lack of facilities, poor customer service.
...This is yet another hotel I stayed in when flying as cabin crew. I was on a trip here for 4 days, flying from Milan Malpensa Airport staying at this 4 star hotel.
Location:
About a 15 minutes drive from the airport, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus services with irregular timings. This is the place to stay if you have to go to the airport, definitely not the place to stay if you want to explore the city of Milan! This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, on the edge of a little town. Nice scenery yes, but not much to do!
First impressions:
Arriving at the hotel in a rather battered hotel minibus with a friendly driver speaking broken English, I was rather under whelmed. As said before, it's in the middle of nowhere, just off a main road. The hotel is a very modern and is painted a very garish shade of orange, not sure who...

Advantages: Clean, safe, elegant, friendly Disadvantages: None I can think of - perhaps lack of taxis
...speak pretty much no Italian worth mentioning, I soon worked out what 'prego' (you're welcome), 'grazie' (thank you) and 'scusi' (excuse me) meant, because you hear them ALL the time. People hold doors open for you, and ....get this!.....even stop dead in their tracks rather than walk infront of a person trying to capture a street scene with their camera!!! That says a lot for a city full of people who are supposedly all hussle-bussle and work orientated!!
If anyone is seriously thinking about going - I'd thoroughly recommend Ryanair airlines. Our return flights were about £25 each. And our 3* much-more-than-adequate hotel was also booked on the Ryanair 'Find me a hotel' site - with much much cheapness too.
I'm actually going back to Milan in May. (With my boyfriend this time - as I think my travel tales sold it to him!). It...
