I travelled home from Bombay (Mumbai) in the summer on Indian Airlines and was reasonably impressed. The flight was only an hour late, which is good by Indian standards -they had to get disabled people on. Although I must say that the cabin crew were quite miserable and snappy, although I guess you would be too if you still has to serve a Briton fifty years after independence.
The best bit was getting Bombay mix instead of peanuts. They also put BBC World on the television, which is very comforting when your surrounded by foreigners.
The flight was smooth and I was fairly cosey, as the two seats next to me were empty, so I could get to sleep.

Advantages: An amazing experience for anyone interested in travel. India has it all and more. Disadvantages: The visa is only valid for 6 months. Otherwise I would have stayed for 12.
