Using the Aer Lingus web site is simplicity itself. If your travel dates are flexible, it will offer a range of low fare options, many of which do not require a minimum stay.
With your e-ticket, you can use the self service check-in machine, thus avoiding queues, and even select your preferred seat.
Because of pre-assigned seating, there is no trouble boarding.
I often fly to Heathrow for a day in London : the return fare is often 65Euro or thereabouts, representing tremendous value.
In line with most carriers, Aer Lingus no longer offer free food & drink in economy. A cooked breakfast, complete with (decent) coffee & newspaper is 8euro, which isn't bad value. The entire menu is published on their website, so there are no nasty surprises.
Cabin crew are always very welcoming and helpful.
On the Dublin London routes, Aer Lingus use Airbus aircraft which are roomy, and very comfortable, particularly when landing. The covered walkways are a boon in the winter.
There has been much media criticism of Aer Lingus becoming a low fares carrier. As one who flies regularly (for leisure) I find them to be consistently very good, and I rarely have a gripe.
