Aer Lingus are an Irish based airline who offer many routes from around Ireland to the UK, Europe and America, there are quite a lot of routes available and good deals are available if you are prepared to keep checking and waiting for sales etc.
I recently travelled with Aer Lingus from Manchester to Cork, it was a last resort as I've had problems with Aer Lingus before but other airlines seem to have stopped this route.

Start with the positives, the single cost around £50, should have been a good flight time leaving around 6pm and arriving at around 7.30pm

Negatives, Should have been landing at 7.30pm landed some time around 4am (too bleary eyed to get a more accurate time than this).

On the way to the airport my mother phoned to say when she had checked the Cork airport website it said the flight was not due until 1am so I checked the Aer Lingus website on my mobile and it still had the original flight time.
Arrived at the airport on time and the departures board still had the 6pm flight time along with the check-in desk number. I proceeded to check in my bag and ask if the flight time was correct and was told it was so I made my way through security where the flight time was still 6pm.
After what seemed like a lifetime asking around and being sent from one desk to another I finally found out it was in fact not leaving until midnight. I was a bit annoyed as I thought you provided an email address and mobile number when booking so that they could contact you if there was any change in the flight, even more so at the fact that my mother had found this information out well before I even arrived at the airport which was well before I checked in.
Eventually I was told to go to a desk and get a refreshment voucher for the inconvenience, by this time it was around 8.30pm and the only place still open was a minimum of around £12 for food and a drink. There was nowhere to get change to use a vending machine (I am sure this is probably the airport's duty not each airline though). 3 times the time on the board changed to a later time and eventually boarded the plane just before 3am, the plane which arrived was actually a different airline. I felt as though I was then rushed on and off and the staff were less than pleasant, and there was just nobody in the airport at either side to ask for help.
There was no food available on the flight and the flight was extremely cramped even though there were not many passengers at all on it.

The previous times I travelled with Aer Lingus were also unpleasant, one time a rude member of their staff refused to help an elderly couple print off their ticket on a self service machine so I had to do it for them. Another the flight time was changed slightly without me being informed which worked out o.k but if I hadn't realised I could have missed the flight altogether.

This time led to the arrival time being too late to catch any bus so then cost me a fortune in a taxi, complaints to the airline were completely ignored. Talking to a couple of other passengers one had another flight to catch at 8am and another had missed a train and would have to stay in cork for 6 hours and pay for another.

It wasn't the delays that annoyed me as much as the lack of assistance and information available to the passengers.

I would not travel with this airport again if I can avoid it especially as some of their other routes seem to me to be far more expensive than their rival airlines for the same service.
