On the Nariobi-Mauritius leg despite the delay was slight and the aircraft was spotless. For a 3 hour flight everything was smooth sailing with a generous seat pitch, good breakfast and a fair movie. Overall I just slept until I was awoken by the smell of a good hearty breakfast.
1 week later I had to travel back home ... ...fast checkin and friendly staff at the airport.
The flight was opporated on a modern airbus aircraft with brand new seats.
This flight was great however the cabin decor was not to my tastes with horid yellow seats but the cabin decoration was adequet.
Everything was excellent except the legroom but I had 3 seats on the back row to myself.

The meals were the best ever with an open bar with unlimited drinks and prezels. I even got second helpings because the plane was half full. Unfortunately it all had to end when the aircraft landed in Heathrow.

). You have to eat according to the island tradition, it makes no sense eating European (even though it is catered for) when you have a choice of mouth watering Creole dishes. Once again, your choice of restaurant will depend on your budget. The best way to eat is grilling fresh fish on the beach, there are a number of hotels who caters in this line. My favourite dish is fresh fish wrapped in a banana leaf, smothered in local herbs, draped with mango pulp, and grilled on an open flame.

This is the easy part – there are non stop flights from Heathrow Airport on AirMauritius, and the flight is approximately 8 hours. Please note that a visa is required, usually granted for one month, but can be extended on request.

time is between 10 1/2 and 12 hours, depending on weather and other factors. Most airlines now fly to Mauritius, I went with Virgin Atlantic and can't complain about that at all. Mauritius' own airline is called AirMauritius in case you want to find out about flying with them! I would recommend taking both Rupees and Sterling Travellers cheques, as these are easily cashed throughout the country, and the exchange rate from Pounds to Rupees is better over in Mauritius than it is in England.
Although I was initially surprised at Mauritius not being quite the picturesque country my naive mind had led me to believe, it was a lovely place to visit and I am lucky to be able to say I have been there.
