I have been collecting air miles for a number of years now (since those heady days of paper miles) but have only seriously been collecting since they started giving them at Sainsburys.
Plenty of extra points meant lots of miles and we travelled to Nice, Barcelona and Cologne - our favourite places - putting the miles in for free flights. On one occasion we put in loyalty points for the hotel too and had a completely "free" holiday.
When they changed to Tesco we went with them and are now avid collectors. Last year we made a saving of over £600 using some (600) miles for a QE2 cruise.
We "double dip" too - joining the loyalty schemes at House of Fraser and Shell (they give air miles) and paying for everything we buy with a Tesco credit card (always clear the balance). We average about 1000 miles every three months and have now got enough miles (7000) for 2 flights to LA.
I don't know what you think but Tesco and Shell are usually competitive and provided you clear the balance there is no interest to pay
The Air Miles Travel agency is pretty good as well - despite the telephone waits (at busy times upto 45 minutes) - they always offer a discount on the best price you can find on the High Street and the service is really efficient. A useful tip is to call when the lines open - you may not be first but you should not have too long a wait.
All in all I reckon Air Miles are good value provided you are careful what you buy.

Sorry for the low rate, but i need more info on how to collect miles, what you can spend your miles on etc for this to be helpful to me. Tia. xxx

It's nice to read about your good experiences. However, for a review about airmiles I think there needs to be more information about the scheme itself- how it works, how you can collect, how easy it is to use the miles once you have them. That sort of information would raise your average ratings
