...Who are Air Sahara?
Let me start from the beginning. Until the early 1990s, domestic air travel in India was restricted to just the government-owned Indian Airlines (with Air India operating international flights). When the government changed the rules to allow private airlines, several started up. Now Air Sahara is the second-largest private airline in India.
Air Sahara operate to 26 destinations in India, including all the main cities. Their ... ...half a dozen times on Air Sahara in 2005, mostly on domestic routes, both on the 737 and the Canadair Regional Jet, and also one international flight. Booking
As yet, Air Sahara don't have a "book online" system, so you have to book over the phone, at one of their offices or via a travel agent, or of course if you are flying into India, you can book them with your international flights.
The website does offer a number of novel ways to buy the tickets ...

...in a market monopolized by Air India and Indian Airways (two airlines backed-up by New Delhi government), arrive a totally privately-owned airline: Air Sahara.
In an age of low-cost it was a surprise to see a new traditional airline, specially in a practically full market.
Today, after more than ten years, Air Sahara has strengthened its market quota offering to its customers services quite perfect. Air Sahara flies to 22 cities within India as ... ...performance is the base of Air Sahara policy “Customer Satisfaction”. All the three flights I had with Air Sahara were perfectly on-time.
This airline ha a “frequent flyers” scheme called Cosmos. Passengers can accrue miles on each flight, miles that can be redeem for free flight.
Air Sahara flight could be booked worldwide through travel agents. On Air Sahara web site you can book and buy only tickets for Economy class.

..., efficient service. However, in the 90s they got a shake up when domestic flights were opened to private airlines, and they now have real competition from Jet Airways, AirSahara and the low-cost Air Deccan. In 2005 several more private airlines started up, so they are facing unprecedented competition.
So how are they facing up to it? I've flown with Indian Airlines several times over the past six months, from the Gulf into India and within India. There have been some inconsistencies, but mostly they are quite comparable. They still have the widest network within India, operating to places that others don't want to.
BOOKING
Bookings can be done through the website, for registered users. The website does provide quite good schedule information so I imagine that booking on line is fairly simple, but have not tried it.

...I have travelled through Jet airways on their international as well as domestic fleets. Jet is one of best Indian airlines for domestic travel, there is no doubt about it. They have recently take over AirSahara (sahara group airline) and rename it as jetlite. So for budget airline jetlite is good option which cover many destinations within India.
For international flights it is now cheaper than Air India. So always preferable over Air India. Staff is helpful and well mannered. If you are a frequent flier (I am blue member while my husband is silver card member) then it is whole new experience of welcoming, air port lounge service and seat selection.
We were allowed for higher baggage which was most convinient way for us to take our luggage. So after frequet flier club joining they have some extra advantages.

.... In terms of figures, the average summer temperatures are around 25 degrees with pretty much zero rainfall. Winter temperatures tend to be in the high teens, pushing towards 20 with a little rain. There is of course, as with anywhere, the chance of a random heatwave, in fact the first time I stayed, i'd just missed 2 weeks of 37-40 degree heat. This had been accompanied with blowing sand which meant it was very difficult and inadvisable to go out!! This is caused by air directly from the sahara desert which is obviously very hot, but sometimes also brings sand with it...i'm told that this weather phenomenon lasts only a few days and is fairly infrequent - but still a risk to be aware of. One other thing to remember which I would have found useful before my first time there.....the airport is on the edge of the island which means 2 things...
