This was an airline I'd not heard of before, and in fact I didn't know I'd even booked with them, because I'd booked through a website called Globespan.com, and thought they were the actual airline. ...holiday in Canada, flying with Air Transat. This was an airline I'd not heard of before, and in fact I didn't know I'd even booked with them, because I'd booked through a website called Globespan.com, and thought they were the actual airline.

As I have now discovered, Air Transat are actually a charter airline, and you book with them via travel agents, including Globespan. Despite being a charter airline, they have a scheduled service ...

...travel home to the UK. Air Transat. So off to my trusty computer I went and searched for the website. Air Transat has a web site, primarily aimed at the Canadian passenger a bi-lingual country. The opening page offers a choice of viewing language: English or French. On the main homepage, is the heading “Travelling from Europe” and five country links. France, Italy, Germany Holland and UK. Clicking on the UK link takes you to Globespan, ...

Did I leave my baggage unattended at any time? Etc. and wished me a good flight. Looking good I thought and proceeded to venture into the chaos of the Gatwick departure lounge. Due to the combining the Manchester and Gatwick flights embarkation was delayed 1 ...

An airline we'd definitely use again!

Advantages: Great cabin crew
Disadvantages: Limited due to being a budget airline; food wasn't so great

...travelling to Canad recently was Air Transat. In all honesty, we had no dealing with them apart from getting on and off the plane, as everything was pre-booked and pre-paid with the travel operators beforehand. We arrived and booked in just over 3 hours before the flight left Gatwick for Canada, and this was smooth and painless, despite an employee going through the line saying they had overbooked and did anyone want to volunteer to postpone their ...
...right up until we left Air Transat's care. To sum up, everything they did was lovely and of high efficiency. They are a budget airline in many ways, so I am aware of limitations and that certain standards may not be the same as other, more expensive airlines. The food wasn't great, and the TVs were shared. There were limits on the service only because there were narrow aisles and only a certain speed they could serve the food, but no one else on ...

If you can pay extra, go elsewhere.

Advantages: Cheap, Direct
Disadvantages: Service

...the the Canadian charter company's Air Transat were offering the best deal and I booked with them. Apart from saving money the other advantage of flying Air Transat was that I could fly to Vancouver without having to change planes (I'm a strong believer that if you don't change planes you have more chance of getting your luggage at the other end and less chance of being delayed). Although I was going to Victoria it was much cheaper to get a ferry ...
...11th. Being a charter Air Transat could not help me change the flight seat (and I understand this from the booking conditions) so I had no choice but to buy a new ticket from Air Transat. Well unless you left earth for a day you will know that September 11th was the awful terrorist attack on America. There I was stood with my Air Canada boarding card for my connection to Vancouver (a treat from a friend) when all flights were cancelled. Air Canada ...

Value-for-Money Flights

Advantages: Very cheap - Half price of British Airways
Disadvantages: Smaller seats; No fancy extras like with BA

Normally, my parents book flights well in advance, and up until now we have always flown British Airways. This Summer, however, we left it much later before booking a holiday, partly because many people say it is cheaper to book late, and partly because we had already booked a flight to Rome in October, making the Summer holiday slightly less important (normally we stay at home during October and have our main holiday in Summer). However it soon ...
...decent holiday at any price, when we went to numerous travel agents with no luck. Finally, we settled with what was probably the best option, which was a charter flight with AirTransat to Toronto, Canada (Departing from Glasgow, A bit over 2 hours away from where I live in Aberdeen). I was not looking forward to the flight as I'd heard that you had to pay for drinks, that you had to purchase the headphones and that the seats were cramped (which ...

Zoom Zoom to London

Advantages: legroom, complimentry stuff
Disadvantages: long flight (but not thier fault)

Zoom airlines is not that bad! If you want to fly between Canada and the UK it's cheaper then flying BA/Air Canada and better then taking Air Transat or any other Charter! I recently went from Vancouver to London Gatwick on the Premium seats, and it was not bad... service was good, food was okay (airline food isn't the greatest) - had a choice of two meals, plus drinks kept coming around. Overall not bad, and I liked that they gave you newspapers and bottled water at the beginning of the flight - also nice to recieve the complimentry blanket (with case) and headseats/pillow/eye mask. No real issues with any of it.. i mean it's a long journey, and it's better to have some space then to be crammped like sardines (like say on Air Transat)... i would fly them again! ...

Review of Zoom Airlines

Zoom Zoom Zoom

Advantages: cheap, fast, relialbe, nice staff
Disadvantages: old aircraft, crappy food,

I have flown Zoom twice to Toronto and once to Calgary from London Gatwick and have found both journeys pleasent. The in-flight service is excellent, with the nice and helpful crew, the in-flight movies are also very good. It's just a pitty the food has to spoil it. Also the aircraft was extremely old. The second time i flew Zoom, the flight was diverted to Birmigham where the flight was operated by Air Transat who are yet to update thier aircrafs. I wish they had used the aircraft that took us to Birmingham (the nice blue one). I don't have any negatives about the airline apart from the crappy food and the aircraft. I think Zoom should stretch their service to Birmingham. I am aware that they have launched services from Machester which will take over Air Canada's position. Overall, Zoom are a cheap, good ...

Review of Zoom Airlines

Zoom into Savings

Advantages: well-priced, lots of leg room
Disadvantages: mediocre food

I liked Zoom. It was economical and a very adequate way to travel between Canada and England. Zoom is a Canadian airline that only offers flights between select cities in Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and Winnipeg) and the U.K. (Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Manchester) plus they've just added Paris. I had lots of leg room in premium economy--a very inexpensive upgrade in general, but my husband and I lucked into an upgrade for free. I would equate premium economy with regular economy fares on British Airways or Air Canada--free headsets, meals, drinks, etc. It is also around the same price. Basic economy on Zoom is more like Air Transat or other charter lines--less expensive, and no frills--you buy your own headsets, and wine is included only with dinner. The meal ...
