I did some work in Canada last year and flew Air Transat there and back. The flights gave me two very different experiences of the company.
From what I can gather Air Transat is a charter airline based in Canada that also do some scheduled flights.
I flew out in a chartered Airbus. It was brand new and the staff were obviously very excited to be on it. The airhostesses could only speak pigeon English- odd for a Canadian airline flying to and from the UK. They were very helpful, despite this impedement. The food was OK, it was a dry flight due to the nature of company I was working for, but the coke and orange juice kept on coming.
All in all outbound was 8/10.
The homeward flight was totally different. This time the aircraft was a knackered old Tri-star. The seats were worn out and very rickety. The toilet doors didn't close properly. Basically the plane was a shed. I doubt the galley was working properly because the food served was either burnt or cold. The staff, this time, spoke lots of different languages unfortunately they didn't have a common one- difficult! The captain couldn't even pronounce the name of our destination. I thought English was the international language of aviation?
Homeward journey: 4/10
I can't comment on the cost because I didn't pay, thank goodness.

I've travelled on TS around 6 times and all but one of those experiences were good - the one that wasn't was because my food had become mangled at some stage in the flight. Everyone else's was ok though so I just kept quiet. Chris :o)
