The advantage of flying Airtransat is that it's cheap. This used to mean they had a captive market in transatlantic flights to major Canadian cities. Today this isn't the case. Zoom and others have entered the market so there's competition. Trust me, you want to check out the competition. The most positive experience I've ever had flying Airtransat was in a hotel. Yes, the delays were so bad because one of their aircraft wasn't flightworthy I got to stay in the Toronto Airport hotel. It was nice. All that said, Airtransat seats are tired, their crews are permanently tired and their delays (unscheduled stops at Gander, anyone?) legendary BUT it's so cheap. And I remain unconvinced I'd ever enjoy a transatlantic flight. Spend your money when you get there and see more of Canada (Gander is quite pretty even from the tarmac....)
