Its been three years since I last flew with Air Zimbabwe, it was a return flight from Capetown to Victoria Falls. Before we boarded I was honestly a bit worried about safety and the planes, but I after I safely landed, I changed my mind.
The service was really good: friendly, attentive stewardesses in a pretty uniform took excellent care of the passengers. The food was alright, nothing special, but the flight was only 2 hours or even less, so you really need nothing more. On European flights with airlines like BA I have eaten a lot worse.
The crew seemed properly instructed and it was a very easy and relaxing flight. Honestly, I saw nothing that I needed have worried about. The planes were probably not entirely new, but the seats were neat and clean and for an ordinary passenger like me,the fleet looked fine.
Also the ground personell were helpful, check-in was fast and no problem, we landed and started on time. Another advantage was that the tickets were not very expensive, but I can't remember the exact price however.
So if you are in Southern Africa, Air Zimbabwe is safe enough to fly with and it was other airlines that disappointed me more in the past.
