Bad experience London - Cape Town

Advantages: slightly cheaper than BA (but only by £40 and this was an expensive ticket)
Disadvantages: poor customer service, small seats, ancient plane with poor entertainment and food, delays...

I flew with SAA for the first time and was exceedingly disappointed. While waiting at the departure gate until 2 and a half hours past our departure time we were told every half an hour that there was a technical problem that they were looking at. Our flight was then cancelled and we consequently lost a full day of our week long holiday with a room at heathrow as compensation. Instead of arriving at our hotel in Cape Town at around 11am on Saturday ...
...insult to injury on the flight out my husband and I were not given seats together. For both the journey out and the return flight we had an ancient plane with flickering screens dotted around the plane rather than individual screens. We also had very little leg room. Egypt Air - Making long haul pleasurable

Advantages: Free Pyramids, Cairo, Giza and Museum tours
Disadvantages: You will want to stay longer!

I see the views regarding Eygpt airs services are rather mixed on here which is understandable as everyone has different expereinces depending on there situation. After undertaking my first journey with Eygpt airways I must say I found all aspcect of the journey excellent with some great added bonses, which were more to do with the scheduling of the flight but worth having knowelege of if your ever using the airline as these bonuses are standard ...

Are We There Yet?

Advantages: the cabin crew is very friendly...
Disadvantages: boring music offered, no T.V on board, not enough milk and sugar for the tea etc

The airline from heaven.

Advantages: Too many to count.
Disadvantages: The seat colour and seat pitch

Air Mauritius is a small airline but with big hopes. The experience overall was excellent on both aircraft. On the Nariobi-Mauritius leg despite the delay was slight and the aircraft was spotless. For a 3 hour flight everything was smooth sailing with a generous seat pitch, good breakfast and a fair movie. This flight was great however the cabin decor was not to my tastes with horid yellow seats but the cabin decoration was adequet. A good airline in Africa!

Advantages: Good food, friendly crew, comfy business class
Disadvantages: ground staff in Nairobi
