Advantages: on-time
Disadvantages: bad service, expensive, old aircraft; unhelpful staffs
...of time, I never fly Qantas unless I have no choice.
I'm a frequent flyers member and I have flew with them many times and any times always have some problems. So for my conclusion: 1. The service is slow and inefficient.
2. The staffs are rude and unhelpful.
3. The aircrafts are old and not clean.
4. Nothing is premium except the price!

WORLDS WORST AIRLINE

Advantages: cheap price, can buy ebay credits on the cheap
Disadvantages: horrible service, late flights, less baggage allowance
...airline and to Richard Branson's virgin group, but it appears they dont care if people have complaints, since they do ABSOLUTELY nothing.
When I tried to complain to the head office, they tried to have banished from the area arrested by Brisbane police. I would NEVER EVER fly this airline or any of their affaliates, consdering my experience, its a wonder they exist. POOR SERVICE ...

Ansett- A Great Airline that's gone- updated

Advantages: Great Friendly Service
Disadvantages: Not the great airline empire it used to be
Although Ansett flies still as Kendell etc. Ansett has become a microscopic airline compared to the airline it used to be. Ansett became bankrupt 2 days after Sept. 11th. Although the Airline itself has deteriorated, it's committed service towards it's customers has not.
The Decision
I flew with Qantas from London to Sydney. After arriving, my next flight on Virgin Blue to Adelaide was unfortunately cancelled. Because my friend was waiting in Adelaide, ... ...as me, try visiting the Ansett Museum in Hamilton, Victoria in Australia. The history of the airline can be found at this museum. It is very interesting.
Experience with Them Prior to break-up

Advantages: Great airline
Disadvantages: Frequent flyer seats often booked out months ahead
...but still accrued points on Qantas Freq Flyer programme. You get regular updates on special offers and a monthly newsletter via email and the easy to use web site gives you all the information about your points, current bookings etc. All in all, for a once only joining fee and generally no expiry date on points it is an excellent scheme. ...

Does not live up to hype

Did not live up to all the good reviews. I travelled from Edinburgh to Hamilton May 2008. We arrived at the airport and was quickly boarded on the plane. We had booked premier seats together, when we sat down we realised that the plane and crew were all from Iceland, the crew could only understand half of what the Scottish passengers were saying. The seats was dirty and the crew spent all their time with the small amount of business passengers. One ... ...The seat in front of us went straight back due to being broken. When we landed at Hamilton airport in Canada we were greeted by what looked like a industrial estate. On the return flight the flight was delayed but due to the small airport the passengers had to seat outside and there was limited shops and cafes, none of this information is included in the airport information on the sight. ...
