Advantages: safety, price, food, punctuality
Disadvantages: service of milages, less free luggage

I've travelled several times with Air China, both international and internal. With the same service Air China is much cheaper than most air companies of other countries. I would prefer to take Air China, not only because of it's low price, but also because Air China has an exellent record of safety. I recently traveled with China Airlines so thought I would share my thoughts on them. Despite its name, this is the airline of Taiwan not China. In some countries it is called Mandarin Airlines. I traveled with China Airlines from Glasgow to Bangkok via Amsterdam. Amsterdam is their main European hub, depending on where you are connecting from the first flight will probably be with KLM UK. The main drawback with Amsterdam is the number of delays. ...
...out of there. But China Airlines were on time leaving and arriving. The first leg - Glasgow to Amsterdam was on a Fokker regional jet, which is reasonably comfortable with legroom, seat size etc ( I am a six footer ) The main out leg was in an Boeing 747-400 with a standard passenger layout holding over 300 passengers. I recently travelled to China on BA. Their plane was good, comfortable with a good range of movies, etc. After a 13 hour flight to Hong Kong I was alittle concerned about the subsequent flight to Guangzhou. As it happened Hong Kong airport was a really good stop-over point, and the China-Southern check in desk were very polite. Upon boarding the 737 we realised that the fleet was modern, and the crew polite. Although the flight was only 35 minutes ...
...all a very satisfactory experience. As the name suggests China Southern cover all of Southern China with an extensive flight schedule. The cost was around £120 each which I didn't think was too bad for a national airline. Perhaps Easyjet ought to muscle in on China though!! ... Read review

...could. I found flights with Iberia from London Heathrow via Madrid which for 2 adults and 1 child was £350 cheaper than companies such as Thomson and thomascook. Done deal. So what was the experience like? Check-in We were unable to check in online prior to departure. I work in the travel industry and called Iberia to find out what the problem was. I was informed that it might be because we were not flying direct, however he would check and call ...
...My son was given an Iberia plane jelly lolly, some colouring pencils and a colouring competition. This was nice but all in Spanish and noone explained what to do! Iberia are one of the only scheduled airlines that dont include food / drinks on board their flights. A sandwich plus drink was €10. Had I known this in advance I would have taken my own. Disadvantages: Dangerous attitude to aircraft safety

I flew with TAP airlines yesterday (03/10/08) on Flight TP348 from Madeira to Gatwick. I have two issues really, the first being the most important:- During the course of the flight it became readily apparent that a young portugese male had decided to ignore all flight crew instructions and smoked in one of the onboard toilets. Despite a female member of cabin crew obviously discussing it with him as he returned to his seat, aboslutely NO ACTION ...
...when coming in to land, as I watched a very elderly lady walk to the bathroom despite the seat belt signs being on, and no-one either assisted her or asked her to return to her seat. I do not feel that TAP is a safe airline for these reasons. ... Read review
