Does not live up to hype
Review of Globespan by
martika
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: What you pay is not what you get
Did not live up to all the good reviews. I travelled from Edinburgh to Hamilton May 2008. We arrived at the airport and was quickly boarded on the plane. We had booked premier seats together, when we sat down we realised that the plane and crew were all from Iceland, the crew could only understand half of what the Scottish passengers were saying. The seats was dirty and the crew spent all their time with the small amount of business passengers. One ... ...The seat in front of us went straight back due to being broken. When we landed at Hamilton airport in Canada we were greeted by what looked like a industrial estate. On the return flight the flight was delayed but due to the small airport the passengers had to seat outside and there was limited shops and cafes, none of this information is included in the airport information on the sight. ...

A classic airline
Review of Olympic Airways - OA by
avacarrdo
Advantages: Great seats, friendly, cheerful.
Disadvantages: No major disadvantages
...choice was between Easyjet and Olympic Airlines/Airways (OA). OA won the day.
THE COMPANY:
OA is Greece's national airline, and was founded in 1957. The company has expanded over the years, amalgamating with other Aviation-related companies. I have found it hard to figure out whether the company is officially Olympic Airlines, or Olympic Airways. In any case, I'm just going to refer to them as OA. Originally based at Athens' old airport, Hellinikon, ... ...time. As Olympic Airways is a full-service airline, you are offered drinks and a full meal onboard. Once we'd taken off, it was a drinks trolley with a small-ish but adeqeute range of juices, soft drinks and alcohol, although they were not accompanied by any nuts or pretzels. The meals on both legs were good; coleslaw and then a main dish of pasta-one way it was spaghetti bolognaise, and on the other it was a pasta bake. They didn't offer you a choice, ...

Very easyJet
Review of EasyJet - EZU by
troggers4
Advantages: Very Cheap
Disadvantages: Overpriced onboard food and drink
...how my first experience of easyJet spanned out....
************Booking************
The actual booking of the flight was remarkably straight forward and I was able to do this all online for free. My most local airport was London Gatwick, so I simply chose that on the list of airports on the easyJet website, selected Faro and selected my departure and arrival date. This brought me to a number of selections of times and prices, flights being cheaper ... ...was displayed in its familiar easyJet orange coloured logo. The plane was quite small and inside had 2 sets of 3 rows going down either side of the plane. I had the option of sitting anyway onboard, however it didnt seem that some seats had more reasonable leg room than others. The leg room was adequate for such a short flight and seemed the same that I had come across in economy classes in such airlines as British Airways and Emirates. The crew ...

First impressions are good
Review of Flybe by
ScottishWestie
Advantages: Professional staff, no fuss, rewards programme
Disadvantages: Bit pricey, old planes, add ons
...business & decided to use FlyBe for the first time. This is a company who has been extending their network of routes in recent years & I never hear anything bad about them. Currently they fly 165 routes over Europe from 53 airports, in the UK that includes Aberdeen, Belfast City, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Derry, Doncaster, Dundee, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey & Guernsey, Kirkwall, Leeds, Liverpool, London Gatwick, ... ...After that, things did improve, FlyBe aren't so demanding as EasyJet & Ryan Air, no constant reminders that you need to arrive on time & when you arrive two minutes before check in time they won't check you in!! No writing all personal & hotel details on a luggage tag for Ryan Air & informing you that they won't search for a lost bag without those details being recorded. No, FlyBe provide clear & precise instructions without sounding patronising.
