Jet airways is good over Air India
Review of Jet Airways by
imwhoever
Advantages: well mannered staff, food, customer service
Disadvantages: less direct flights, small lag room
I have travelled through Jet airways on their international as well as domestic fleets. Jet is one of best Indian airlines for domestic travel, there is no doubt about it. They have recently take over Air Sahara (sahara group airline) and rename it as jetlite. So for budget airline jetlite is good option which cover many destinations within India.
For international flights it is now cheaper than Air India. So always preferable over Air India. Staff ... ...flier (I am blue member while my husband is silver card member) then it is whole new experience of welcoming, air port lounge service and seat selection.
We were allowed for higher baggage which was most convinient way for us to take our luggage. So after frequet flier club joining they have some extra advantages.
Food quality is average and I should say it is better in domestic flights than international.
Lag room is not that big but one can ...

Trials and tribulations of a trip to India
Review of Air India - AIC by
Jarrac
Advantages: An amazing experience for anyone interested in travel. India has it all and more.
Disadvantages: The visa is only valid for 6 months. Otherwise I would have stayed for 12.
...service.
The second was with Air India Express, and it was dire. The staff, as hard as they were trying were having a very hard time of it, as anyone who has been some time in India will testify. Indians are as well as being lovely people, are noisy, impatient, ill-disciplined and can be down right hard work to deal with......... Makes me laugh!!!
First we had a security scare whereby someone was refused permission to fly and had to have bags removed. ... ...same company, and on a jolly to Bkk) began to argue over each others' right to sit in their various seats. Then a couple of bright sparks amongst them, decided to threaten to sue everyone but me on the plane for taking their seats. It was incredible. All this construed to make us an hour late in taking off, by which time the man who started the arguments said the man who was originally in his seat could return to it as he was not worried about sitting ...

Satisfied Without The Vodka
Review of Air Sahara by
Vodkaboy
Advantages: Good food, friendly crew, gnerally punctual, unique touches
Disadvantages: no menu, otherwise no disadvantages.
...Who are Air Sahara?
Let me start from the beginning. Until the early 1990s, domestic air travel in India was restricted to just the government-owned Indian Airlines (with Air India operating international flights). When the government changed the rules to allow private airlines, several started up. Now Air Sahara is the second-largest private airline in India.
Air Sahara operate to 26 destinations in India, including all the main cities. Their ... ...half a dozen times on Air Sahara in 2005, mostly on domestic routes, both on the 737 and the Canadair Regional Jet, and also one international flight. Booking
As yet, Air Sahara don't have a "book online" system, so you have to book over the phone, at one of their offices or via a travel agent, or of course if you are flying into India, you can book them with your international flights.
The website does offer a number of novel ways to buy the tickets ...

The Old Lady of Indian Flying
Review of Indian Airlines by
Vodkaboy
Advantages: Good food, some nice people, clean planes
Disadvantages: Punctuality, airport services, some old planes
...bad things to say about Indian Airlines. They tut, shake their head, roll their eyes. Even cringe. For many years India had just two airline, both state-run: Air India, who did the international flying, and Indian Airlines who did the domestic flights. This resembled the old days in the UK where BOAC flew longhaul and BEA flew within Europe. The British government realised this wasn't working back in the 1970s, but it continues in India today. The ... ...to it? I've flown with Indian Airlines several times over the past six months, from the Gulf into India and within India. There have been some inconsistencies, but mostly they are quite comparable. They still have the widest network within India, operating to places that others don't want to. BOOKING Bookings can be done through the website, for registered users. The website does provide quite good schedule information so I imagine that booking on ...

Best way for getting to the Canary Islands
Review of Iberia - IBE by
cass30
Advantages: Fly from Heathrow, cheap fares
Disadvantages: no food or drink included
...could. I found flights with Iberia from London Heathrow via Madrid which for 2 adults and 1 child was £350 cheaper than companies such as Thomson and thomascook. Done deal.
So what was the experience like?
Check-in
We were unable to check in online prior to departure. I work in the travel industry and called Iberia to find out what the problem was. I was informed that it might be because we were not flying direct, however he would check and call ... ...My son was given an Iberia plane jelly lolly, some colouring pencils and a colouring competition. This was nice but all in Spanish and noone explained what to do! Iberia are one of the only scheduled airlines that dont include food / drinks on board their flights. A sandwich plus drink was €10. Had I known this in advance I would have taken my own. I did however get some water free! The staff were pleasant. All announcements done in spanish followed ...
